There are so many crossover SUVs available in the market nowadays but the new 2018 Nissan Murano stands out amidst the crowd. Since its debut in 2003, the Murano has sold in good numbers and it is among the popular models in Nissan’s portfolio.

The 2018 Murano is a stylish midsized crossover with a blend of sharp creases and rounded contours on its exterior. The front side features Nissan’s revised V motion grille and at back, you get wraparound taillights. Exterior color choices are Pacific Sunset, Cayenne Red, Gun Metallic, Arctic Blue Metallic etc. It is sold in 4 trims- S, SL, SV and Platinum. Furthermore, the cabin is sleek and utilitarian in design. Default cargo space is 31.1 cubic feet. Based on the trim was chosen- there are 5 upholstery choices including 3 types of leather seating.

The Platinum trim can be equipped with a special Midnight Edition package. It gets the black spoiler, special edition floor mats, black side-view mirrors, new wheels, black roof rails.

Trims Features

The 2018 Murano comes with several amenities and cutting-edge safety features. The base S trim gets 18″ aluminum-alloy wheels, LED Daytime Running Lights, 15-LED taillights, rear privacy glass, RearView Monitor, 7.0″ Advanced Drive-Assist® Display, Brushed Silver trim, cruise control, Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control. It gets safety features like Advanced Air Bag System , Traction Control System, Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution. It can be equipped with Navigation package.

In SL trim, you also get silver roof rails, power rear liftgate, Leather-appointed, and heated front seats, Bose® Premium Audio System, Nissan Navigation System, HD Radio, auto-dimming rearview mirror. It gets safety features like Driver Attention Alert and Blind Spot Warning, Moving Object Detection, Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System. It can be laden with a technology package which adds a panoramic moonroof and more safety features.

In SV trim, you get Black Roof Rails, NissanConnect infotainment setup, Intelligent Climate Control, Remote Start Engine System, Leather-wrapped steering wheel etc. It can be paired with Driver Assistance Package and also a Premium package.

However, the top Platinum trim of the 2018 Nissan Murano gets enhanced leather upholstery, 20″ Alloy Wheels, LED headlights, Heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, ambient cabin lighting. It can be clubbed with the Platinum Technology Package which adds Power Panoramic Moonroof, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Forward Emergency Braking and Intelligent Cruise Control.

2018 Nissan Murano – Powertrain and Gearbox

The 2018 Nissan Murano gets powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 260 HP. It is paired with a continuously variable gearbox. The ride quality is superb with cabin remaining quiet under most situations. However, the fuel economy is decent with EPA city/highway 21/28 mpg. The new Murano model is also available with either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).

The base trim price of 2018 Nissan Murano begins at $30.000 approx. It is now available for sale. The 2018 Nissan Murano leaves a positive impression with its styling and great ride quality. Furthermore, the top trim gets excellent amenities and safety features. The new NissanConnect infotainment system is a joy to use but it lacks support for Android Auto. It still offers steep competition to the likes of Kia Sorento and Ford Edge.
