The newest 2018 Nissan Patrol comes with some minor to moderate styling changes. Nissan is keen on strengthening its foothold in SUV and crossover segment in various countries. This is clear from the latest moves of the Japanese car giant. It is going to unveil the updated version of Patrol SUV in Australia and some other countries.

This comes just after the company unveiled a new version of Armada, which is sold in the US market. The 2018 Patrol comes with minor styling changes and a new set of safety features.

On first glance, all the changes may not be obvious but you will gradually notice the exterior styling changes. The grille features new V motion styling- in sync with other Nissan models. Even the front bumper now looks more rugged. The car also gets new set of fog light clusters. The 18-inch alloy wheels look enticing. Overall, the design is more enticing and aerodynamic in nature. The SUV will be sold in some exciting exterior colors and two trim choices- like the predecessor.

The cabin of 2018 Nissan Patrol has also been updated to a moderate level. The dashboard looks more streamlined and sleek. The front row seats are large and comfortable but rear row seats are a bit too flat for long journeys. The third row of seats is best for the kids. You can buy the car in either 7 or 8 seater setup

Like most other cars in Nissan’s portfolio, the 2018 Nissan Patrol is getting extensive revamp in both amenities and safety segments. The models feature a larger 8.0-inch infotainment display with sleek graphics and enhanced speed. It is there for you to control numerous features of Nissan Connect infotainment setup. Support for GPs and Bluetooth are there. There are more USB ports in the cabin. Some standalone upgrade options are there too.

Apart from usual airbags and traction control, the 2018 Patrol features Intelligent Rear-View Camera tech. With this, you can switch between the typical rearview mirror and a camera fitted at the rear top of the vehicle. Top trim gets Blind Spot Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Distance Control Assist.

2018 Nissan Patrol – Engine Specifications

As per the updates, Nissan is carrying on with the powertrain used in 2017 Patrol even for the 2018 model. So, it will get the 5.6-litre petrol V-8. It will produce 400 HP and 550Nm of torque under the hood.

The engine is paired with an AWD setup and a seven-speed automatic transmission gearbox. However, the engine may get tweaked for better mileage. Towing capacity, however, is the same as 2017 model.

2018 Nissan Patrol – Price and Availability

The Australian pricing of 2018 Nissan Patrol is out. The base trim begins at $71,990. It is going to be made available for sale soon.

The new Nissan Patrol comes with enhanced styling and safety features. The cabin is utilitarian than lavish and the engine is quite powerful. It also gets the higher price tag. It is yet to be seen how it stacks up to its arch-rival, the venerable Toyota Land Cruiser.
