Toyota, the noted Japanese carmaker has several popular SUVs and crossovers in its kitty but the new 2018 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro has an impressive legacy and fan following. The mid-size SUV started its journey in 1984 and despite its truck roots, offers most segment rivals a run for their money. Over the years, it has been revamped several times and Toyota has also added new trims to appeal to more buyers.

The TRD Pro trim of 4Runner is aimed at users who love taking their cars into rocky terrains and wilderness quite often rather than driving on urban roads. For 2018, the 4Runner has been spruced up and so the TRD Pro trim has also got its share of updates.

The SUV gets features like heated outside mirrors, heated front seats, simulated leather upholstery, simulated leather upholstery. There is also a Cruise control, Auto on/off headlight, remote keyless entry, variable intermittent windshield wipers, 12V DC power outlets.

The SUV gets laden with Toyota’s Star Safety System suite. It includes features like Vehicle Stability Control, Anti-lock Brakes, Traction Control, Smart Stop Technology. There are features like the Anti-theft system, Tire Pressure Monitor System and Advanced Airbag System.

Like other trims of 2018 4Runner, the TRD Pro trim also gets equipped with a 4.0-Liter V6 engine. This engine is paired with a 5-speed automatic Transmission gearbox. The output is 270 HP and towing capacity is 5000 pounds. Ride quality is decent on urban roads but takes the 4Runner TRD Pro to the rocky terrain and muddy roads.

The presence of Hill Start Assist and specially designed TRD Bilstein shock absorbers are there. It will ensure the bumps and potholes are handled without hassle. The engine is not very fast but you will not feel like a slouch either.
