2019 BMW X2 Review, Price

After the recent launch, we are pretty sure that 2019 BMW X2 will not feature more important changes. As you probably know, the new crossover came just recently, as the 2018-year model. The famous Bavarian carmaker continues with the expansion of its lineup. This time, we saw coupe-like derivate of the company’s famous crossover X1.

The new model is in the same relationship with the subcompact crossover, as X4 is with X3 and X6 is with X5. Two models are same in many aspects and the biggest difference is in body shape. Rest of the design characteristics, including powertrain, interior design, and others, are pretty much the same. The new model came recently, so there is no need for some further modifications at the moment. The 2019 X2 will come without more important changes, but some changes in terms of equipment are possible. Expect its arrival late in the year.

2019 BMW X2 design

Although completely new, this crossover comes with a pretty familiar design philosophy. It is the third body derivate of the brand’s famous odd-numbered crossover. This time, it is a coupe-like version of the subcompact X1. Compared to this model, the new one is a little bit smaller, due to its sloping roofline. The 2019 BMW X2 will continue without changes in this aspect since it is very fresh. Its coupe line is the most distinctive details, but there are some other novelties as well. The company introduced some mild changes on the grille and headlights. So, this could be something that we are probably going to see on other upcoming new models.

Inside, the 2019 BMW X2 will also continue without changes. The interior design is pretty much the same as in X1, although there are few new, barely notable details.

2019 BMW X2 features

Although small, the 2019 BMW X2 will come well-equipped. Despite its size, this is still a premium crossover. So, a long list of standard features is expected. Compared to the current 2018-year model, we could see few additional standard feature, but the core will definitely remain the same. So, standard features are things like 18-inch wheels, foglamps, keyless ignition, automatic wipers and a power tailgate, power-adjustable front seats, driver-seat memory settings and a seven-speaker audio system. Also, there are some optional packages in the offer. For example, a Convenience package includes features like a panoramic sunroof, ambient interior lighting, auto-dimming mirrors, keyless entry, satellite radio and adjustable front-seat lumbar support.

On the other side, Premium package includes things like LED headlights, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats, a head-up display, and a navigation system. Of course, there is also a whole bunch of standalone options.

2019 BMW X2 engines

When it comes to the powertrain, North American models will come with a single engine option. It is a familiar 2.0-liter gasoline engine, which delivers around 225 horsepower and comes it a pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Outside North America, there are three engine variants in the offer. There is a familiar 2.0-liter gasoline unit, which for this occasion deliver 189 horsepower. It comes with a dual-clutch 7-speed automatic gearbox. The same transmission is used for the 2.0-liter diesel engine, which is good for about 187 horsepower. On the other side, a more powerful version of this engine comes with an 8-speed automatic. This unit delivers 227 horses. Interestingly, there is no manual transmission in the offer.

2019 BMW X2 release date and price

The 2019 BMW X2 will come somewhere late in the year. Compared to X1, this model cost few thousands more. So, base models are available at 38.000 dollars, roughly. Competition is pretty tough. There is a whole bunch of small luxury crossovers on the markets.

Some of the key players are models like Audi Q3, Lexus NX, and Mercedes-Benz GLA. Also, there are models like Infiniti QX30, Range Rover Evoque, Volvo XC40 and many others.
