The attractive luxury SUV is going to receive some updates for the 2019 Buick Envision. This compact crossover is in production since 2014, so next year could be a perfect time for some updates. As you probably know, this model was designed primarily for the Chinese markets, but now it is available also in countries like the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

However, a complete production of the crossover is still set in China, since it is its primary market. Because of that, most of the changes that will come will be in order to meet demands of Chinese drivers. According to some sources, we are going to see a mid-cycle refresh that will include both exterior and interior changes.

On the other side, some sources suggest smaller changes, such as new equipment, new colors, interior schemes etc. The 2019 Envision should come in the second half of next year.

2019 Buick Envision changes

As we already mentioned, there are opposite reports about this update. According to some reports, we will see a complete mid-cycle update, which will include various changes. However, most of the reports suggest mild modifications. According to these sources, the 2019 Buick Envision will come with some smaller updates.

The biggest change will be in terms of features. We will see a reorganization of trim levels. Each model will get some new standard features, but it is also possible to see some completely new trim level. Besides new equipment, 2019 Envision will get few other novelties.

While the exterior design will remain the same, we could still see one or two new color choices, as well as new set of wheels. The interior design should also receive some new color schemes, but rest of the cabin will continue without changes.

Most of the reports suggest mild changes, but there is also a chance to see a mid-cycle refresh, which will include bigger modifications. In both cases, base design characteristics will remain the same. The 2019 Buick Envision will surely continue to share the platform with models like Chevrolet Equinox and its GMC relative Terrain.

On the other side, we could see changes in terms of styling. This update could bring several new visual details and most of them will surely come at the front. We could see new headlights and grille design, but also new bumpers and wheels design. The base shape will definitely remain the same.

When it comes to the interior design, we could see some revision on the dash, which will include changes like new touchscreen, instrument cluster, and several other new details. In both cases, we expect to see new standard equipment for each trim level.

2019 Buick Envision engines

When it comes to powertrain, we don’t expect changes for the 2019 Buick Envision. It should come with the same engines as the current model. There are total three engines that this crossover uses.

For the North American market, there are two four-cylinder units in the offer. The base model comes with a proven 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline engine, which has a max output of 197 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque and comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. The optional engine is a 2.0-liter Turbo inline-four unit, which is good for about 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. With this engine, compact crossover will go from 0 to 60 in about 7 seconds while a top speed will be over 130 miles per hour.

For the Chinese market, there is also a smaller 1.5-liter Turbo engine, which has a max output of 169 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.

2019 Buick Envision release date and price

The 2019 Buick Envision will come somewhere in the second half of next year, but a more precise date is still unknown.

When it comes to price, we don’t expect bigger changes compared to the current model. So, it should go in a range between 35.000 and 46.000 dollars. Key competitors will be models like Acura RDX, Infiniti QX50, Lincoln MKX and many others.
