2019 Toyota Sequoia Redesign, Release Date

Toyota has a number of crossovers and SUVs in its lineup and the Sequoia is among the ones existing for a long time. The Sequoia is, in fact, the largest SUV in Toyota’s stable and it is based on Tundra pickup truck. It is one of the reliable family haulers and has the robust build quality and solid performance. However, its styling appears really dated and amenities lag behind those of rivals. So, Toyota has decided to revamp the Sequoia model. The 2019 Toyota Sequoia does not get a huge revamp.

With minor styling updates, Toyota has enhanced safety features and amenities are also better this time. A new trim level has also been introduced to woo style-conscious buyers.

2019 Toyota Sequoia Body and Colors

The 2019 Toyota Sequoia has not been given styling overhaul as such. It still looks more bulbous than most of its rivals. The number of sharp lines in the body is few. However, the latest model gets sleeker looking grille and headlamps. There are 4 trims- SR5, Limited, and Platinum and TRD Sport. Limited and Platinum get chrome bumper garnish. Three new colors for exterior have been added- Toasted Walnut Pearl, Shoreline Blue Pearl and Midnight Black Metallic. If you are into stylish SUVs, the TRD Pro trim will woo you with blackened interior and exterior. It gets black 20-inch aluminum wheels, black mirror caps, smoked taillight, exclusive bumper, and black fabric seats.

As for the cabin, the 2019 Sequoia fares better than the predecessor but most rivals outshine it in styling and material quality. You can find some hard plastics in the cabin. The dashboard, however, looks sleek. In cargo space, the 2019 Sequoia wins over most competitors with 1 cubic feet default capacity and this can go up to a whopping 120 cubic feet. While cup and bottle holders are there, a number of USB ports are fewer than what you get in GM and Ford models.

Safety Features

Toyota offers enough safety features in each trim of 2019 Sequoia. The standard Safety Sense-P suite includes features like pedestrian detection, lane keeps assisting, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-be a ms, and rearview camera. Of course, there are several airbags.

The base SR5 Trim gets tri-zone automated climate control, moonroof, Bluetooth, Entune infotainment system, satellite radio. It can be laden with Premium package. The TRD Sport trim gets 20-inch wheels, anti-sway bars, second-row captain’s chairs etc. Limited trim adds a power liftgate, navigation, heated front seats, and leather seats.
