2018 Hyundai Kona

After the premiere in June, the brand-new 2018 Hyundai Kona is ready for launch. This is the newest addition to the company’s crossover lineup. The famous Korean company has a great ambition to become the biggest Asian manufacturer in Europe by 2021.

To achieve this goal, it needs new small city cars. This is a subcompact crossover, which makes it perfect for this occasion. It comes with pretty interesting, very attractive design and plenty of new technologies. It is designed primarily for the Europe, but we should see it available in many other parts of the world.

For now, we know that the 2018 Kona will come in two gasoline and one diesel variant, but we should also see a completely new, environment-friendly electrified version in a year or two. This version should have a 250-mile range, so there is a great potential for this version too.

It is a new subcompact crossover, which is designed primarily for the European market but should come to other parts of the world too. It rides on the company’s familiar GB platform, which is in use for various models like Hyundai i20, Kia Stonic etc.

In terms of styling, this model is pretty interesting. Its design is much different compared to its bigger brothers Tucson and Santa Fe. The most notable parts of the front end are headlights. There are two lighting groups. The upper one features daytime running lights and turning signals, while the lower one features LED headlights. There is also the brand’s new cascading grille. The rear end is also pretty unique and it also features two groups of lights. Also, there is a floating roof, common for modern small crossovers.
