2019 Audi Q5 Release Date, Price

For the second year of production of the new generation we don’t expect bigger changes, so the 2019 Audi Q5 will feature pretty many same characteristics as recently-launched, all-new 2018 year model. The company finally released the second generation, after eight years.

The original version was in production between 2008 and 2016, which is a pretty long period for a segment that is evolving permanently with new models, technologies and design solutions. The new generation comes with plenty of improvement. It gets a completely new platform that provides much better driving experience. Also, there is a more powerful engine, as well as a completely new styling and interior design. If we consider all these significant changes, it is hard to expect something more from the 2019 Q5. This model will continue in the same way, although we could see some minor novelties, such as new color options and similar things.

2019 Audi Q5 redesign

The 2019 Audi Q5 will continue with the brand-new design of the 2018 year model. This redesign has brought many novelties. First of all, the new model gets a new chassis that brings many benefits. The new model features bigger dimensions, but also comes with some nice weight savings. In terms of styling, you can clearly notice the evolution of the original. There is no place for some radical turnarounds, so the new generation continues with a familiar overall shape. However, the new model wears a completely new suit. It follows the brand’s latest design language, which includes sharper lines, narrower headlights, new grille design and hundreds of other new details. The overall impression is that the second generation looks much more mature than the original. The interior design is also completely new, and the 2019 Audi Q5 will continue without changes in this aspect too.

2019 Audi Q5 features

When it comes to equipment, the 2019 Audi Q5 will be organized in three trim levels. Those are Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The base Premium model comes with standard features like 18-inch wheels, LED lights, roof rails, cruise control, leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, eight-way power front seat, smartphone integration, Bluetooth and many other things. A mid-range Premium Plus adds several new standard features. There are additions such as a panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry, heated front seats with driver-seat memory settings, satellite radio, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Finally, the Prestige includes even more amazing standard features. There are things like 20-inch wheels, noise-insulated side windows, a head-up display, ambient cabin lighting, a bird’s-eye view parking camera, a Bang & Olufsen surround-sound system, a touchscreen navigation system, a Wi-Fi connection and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster display.

2019 Audi Q5 engines

All versions of the 2019 Audi Q5 will come with a familiar 2.0-liter gasoline engine. For this redesign, a familiar turbo inline-four came with several tweaks and now features more power than before. It has a max output of 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. All models come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which delivers power to all wheels in a standard package. With this amount of power, the new model marks great numbers. For example, it needs around 6 seconds to reach 60, while the top speed goes up to almost 130 miles per hour.

On the other side, fuel economy is also very good and goes around 25 mph on a combined drive. For the European market, there is also a 3.0-liter diesel engine in the offer, which is good for 282 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque.

2019 Audi Q5 release date and time

The 2019 Audi Q5 should come somewhere late in the next year. We don’t expect changes in price, so base models should go around 42.000 dollars. Competition is pretty tough.

There are arch rivals like BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC, but also many other compact luxury crossovers like Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Volvo XC60 etc.
