2019 BMW X7 Release Date and Latest News

The famous Bavarian carmaker will finally enter the segment of full-size crossovers, after many years of waiting. The completely new model 2019 BMW X7 is in the late stage of development and it is expected to come next year. So far, BMW had a mid-size X5 as the biggest SUV in its lineup. Now, we are about to see a full-size, probably three-row crossover, which will come much bigger.

This will be a completely new model, but it will use many design solutions and technologies from current models of the brand. The new crossover will share most of its mechanical characteristics with new 7 Series. On the other side, it will visually be close to the X5. When it comes to engines, 2019 X7 will come with the pretty much same lineup as its sedan relative, which means that will see a hybrid version as well. We expect its arrival in 2018.

The 2019 BMW X7 will be a completely new model from the famous brand. We still don’t know the exact details about the new model, but many things are for sure. The new model will be a full-size crossover. It will ride on the same architecture as new 7 Series. Just we were expected, the new model won’t be so much off-road oriented, despite its SUV-ish appearance. The Bavarian manufacturer is known for excellent sports performances and 2019 BMW X7 shouldn’t be an exception.

It will probably come in two variants. Base models will most likely feature three rows of seats, with the capacity of seven passengers. On the other side, there are rumors about special, more luxurious version that will feature four seats and be a rival to the pricey Bentley Bentayga. When it comes to the styling, we are about to see many new details.

Although this will be an all-new model, it will borrow many details from the current vehicles in company’s lineup. The 2019 BMW X7 will come in a classic crossover body style, so we expect to feature similar shape to the mid-size X5, but also use many details from new 7 Series sedan. Besides those familiar design solutions, it will also come with a plenty of new details. The test model is still under a camouflage so we can’t precisely tell which are that new details. However, several reliable sources suggest that the new 2019 X7 will feature a new design of headlights, as well as some other details too.

When it comes to the interior design, we expect many similarities with X5 and Series 7 models, but also few unique details. Besides great materials quality, we are about to see plenty of advanced technologies as well.

2019 BMW X7 engines

According to the most of the reports, the 2019 BMW X7 will feature the same engines as new 7 Series. The base model will come with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine with max power of 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The same engine is available in a hybrid variant, along with electric motor and battery pack. In this configuration, a total output goes around 322 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.

There is also a familiar 3.0-liter inline-six engine, which is also good for 322 horses but features 332 pound-feet of max torque.

The next one is a 4.4-liter V8, which outputs 443 horses and 479 pound-feet of torque.

The 2019 BMW X7 will also come with a familiar 3.0-liter diesel engine, which comes in several output configurations, between 261 and 394 horsepower.

When it comes to transmission, all engines will come with a familiar 8-speed automatic.

The 2019 BMW X7 will hit the market somewhere next year. However, we could see its premiere already at the end of 2017. When it comes to the competition, keys rival will probably be Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz GLS. Also, we mentioned a four-seat version that could be a great alternative to the expensive Bentley Bentayga.
