The original Honda Crosstour was sold as Accord Crosstour in the early days. It was launched in 2009 and in 2016 declining sales figures prompted by the company to withdraw manufacturing. It was launch to rival the now discontinued model Toyota Venza. Since it was a hatchback based on the Accord, it had the same platform. However, it failed to be as popular as the Accord in its lifespan.

Some of the speculations circuit that this year model 2019 Honda Crosstour will get a 3,5-liter engine that will be able to deliver 192 HP. However, some sources indicate that it may also get a 2,4-liter engine.
