2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept, Spy Photos and Release Date

The iconic SUV is coming back. After many years of waiting, the iconic model will come back as 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. We all remember those wood panels, but this vehicle is much more than that. It was the biggest model in Jeep’s lineup for so many years.

Original model came in 1963. After full three decades, production finally ended in 1993. During this period, we have seen numerous versions of it. Its successor Grand Cherokee is still in production and it will continue. However, the new 2019 Grand Wagoneer will be much bigger, if we can judge on images where these two models stand one next to another.

The new SUV will be a flagship model of the brand and some reports even suggest that will compete with premium models from brands such as Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz etc. We expect its arrival next year.

2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer design

The 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will be a completely new model from the famous SUV manufacturer. We will see a new full-size SUV, which will share the platform with Grand Cherokee. However, this architecture will come with significantly stretched wheelbase for this occasion, in order to provide enough space for three rows of seats. Its spacious cabin will provide space for seven passengers and already base models will feature three rows of seats. As we already mentioned, some reports suggest that the new 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will go a little bit more upscale, compared to current Jeep models.

This basically means that the new SUV could be luxurious enough to compete with brands like Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz etc, Besides platform, new SUV will have much more in common with another legend, Grand Cherokee. Even in the visual aspect, it will be heavily inspired.

2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer styling

Some pictures of the new 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer leaked and we can see how the new model is going to look like. Although it will be much bigger than Grand Cherokee, it will feature pretty much the same design language. Moreover, it will borrow many details from it. For example, there is a familiar prominent seven-slat grille. Headlights also feature a familiar shape, although they come with a brand-new seven-dot led pattern. Those interesting lighting patterns can be seen on taillights as well. Other interesting details of the rear end are new dual exhaust pipes. The look from other angles is still under question since leaked photos showed just front and rear ends. From a side, we believe that the new 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will feature similar lines as Grand Cherokee. Moreover, the overall shape will be pretty close, although new SUV will come with bigger dimensions.

A V8 version is also expected. For this occasion, new 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will most likely use a familiar engine from Hemi. It has a max displacement of 5.7 liters and a max output of 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.

  1. I own a 1987 Gr. Wagoneer and everywhere I go, I get compliments. Everyone loves nostalgia, that is for sure. I am hoping that the designers at Jeep will have thought of that and not simply making the Wagoneer a copy of every other car on the road. Jeep could benefit immensely by duplicating the looks of the original Gr. Wagoneer with some innovative features that were not available or even thought of in the early days.
