2019 Lexus RX 450h Review, F Sport and L version

The carmakers are now focusing on making vehicles that run on electricity or green energy sources. This is also true about the luxury car brands. Lexus the luxury wing of Japanese car behemoth Toyota is on the same path as well. The company has revamped the top-selling hybrid crossover 2019 Lexus RX 450h model.

The styling changes are minimal but amenities have been enhanced to an extent. The model also gets a price cut compared to the earlier version and this makes it even more lucrative for the target buyers.

In safety section, the new 2019 Lexus RX 450h fares pretty well. It gets standard features like a forward-collision warning, active lane control, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and the rearview camera.

Also, with this package, one will get a great modification with a black mesh grille, black side-mirror caps, facelifted and lowered front fascia, adaptive variable suspension and attractive blacked 20-inch wheels. There is four model that will be available in this model. This includes Normal, Eco, Sport or Sport+.

However, the interior of this trim will be richer than the standard one. The 8.0-inch version touchscreen is now replaced with a bigger 12.3-inch center display. One can set and customize home screen by its need. It can place for example apps like map, audio.

The V-6-based hybrid setup used in the existing model will be retained in the 2019 version with some tweaks to the powertrain. This model will get a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that comes with an electric motor. Furthermore, the electric motor has the power of 123-kW. The total output of this engine is 308 HP.

A CVT is there in lieu of eight-speed automatic gearbox. There is a drive mode selector with three modes and the Sport mode does make a difference. The ride quality of the 2019 Lexus RX 450h is butter smooth and the car soaks in bumps very well.

The base price of new 2019 Lexus RX 450hL is approx $53,185. This is about $5000 more than the model with 2 row of seats. Furthermore, the top trim F Sport starts near $58,000. With customizations, the price can exceed $60.000. The car will be available for sale in a few months.

The 2019 Lexus RX 450h is a nice midsized luxury hybrid crossover that will appeal to a large section of buyers. Its expanded seating capacity will let Lexus gain new grounds in the US market. The powertrain is a solid performer and amenities leave almost no place for grudges. The company also offers plenty of customization packages for the vehicle.

The pricing, however, remains on the competitive side. Rivals like Volvo XC90 Hybrid and Acura MDX Sport Hybrid have higher price tags than this one.
