2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Review
The design of 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander is decent but it may not be up to everyone’s liking as it is. You will find the styling of a tall wagon, and hatchback blended but the mix is not exactly pleasing to the eyes. From some angles, it looks sleek and from some other, it is bulbous and somewhat dated looking. The wheels, however, look stylish. Additions to mock skid-plate and round fog lights add to the visual oomph. It is sold in several exciting colors. The trim levels are ES, SE, LE, SEL and top end GT.
The cabin is also somewhat Spartan in base trim and things improve as you reach high-end trim. However, here the Outlander lags behind other Japanese and Korean rivals. Cargo space is also limited for this class. The third row of seat is only for the kid.
Safety and Trims Features
The 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander safety features and amenities are also good only for top two trims. ES trim gets 18-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, LED running lights, rear privacy glass, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, rearview camera, Bluetooth, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 7-inch touch screen along with USB ports.
SE trim adds fog lights, electronic parking brake, heated front seats, and keyless ignition. The LE trim gets a black exterior trim, black roof rails and blind-spot monitoring. SEL trim adds automatic headlights, gloss-black interior, leather upholstery, power liftgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic wipers. However, the GT trim adds aesthetic updates and it can be paired with GT Touring package. SEL trim can be paired with Premium package and SEL Touring package. You may also upgrade the other trims with standalone elements and other packages.
2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Engine
Barring the top GT trim, all other trims (ES, SE, SE S-AWC, SEL, SEL S-AWC) of 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander get laden with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit under the hood. This engine will produce 166 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. It is paired with a CVT unit. The engine also gets FWD and AWD has been made optional. The city/highway fuel economy is 25/30 mpg (FWD), 24/29 mpg (AWD).
The top GT trim gets a 3.0-liter V-6 and that makes 224 HP. It is clubbed with AWD and a six-speed automatic gearbox. However, this one engine comes with fuel economy of 20/27 mpg.
2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Price and Availability
The price of 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander begins at $24.000 approx. The exact time of release is yet to be declared by the company. It is going to be released in late 2018. The SE models start with the price of $26,000 and the GT V6 trim with $33,000.
Summing it up
The 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Is a nice midsized crossover that gets styling updates and some amenities. For its price tag, it packs in enough punch. However, it still needs to improve in cargo capacity and cabin. It faces competition from popular rivals like Dodge Journey, Nissan Rogue and also a Ford Escape.
