The famous carmaker from Ingolstadt is currently working on several 2019 new SUV models and Audi Q3 will probably be first to come. The fancy small crossover will receive its first redesign and we are about to see numerous changes. First of all, the new model will be based on the company’s famous MQB platform, which will bring many benefits. For example, the second generation of this compact crossover should be more than 100 pounds lighter than the original.

Of course, that won’t be the only change. We are about to see a completely new styling, new interior with latest technologies etc. Speaking about the powertrain, we are about to see not just conventional diesel and gasoline engine, but also hybrid and all-electric models. This will be a brand-new model from Audi. Since it will be closely related to the new Q3, it should come right after a new version of odd-numbered compact crossover. Although a completely new 2019 SUV, the Audi Q4 will have much in common with Q3. Pretty much complete mechanics will be identical, as well as interior design. On the other side, this model will feature a little bit fancier, coupe-like body style, with a sloping roofline. The list of powertrain options will include familiar engines from the VW Group, but we are about to see some electrified versions, as well as a hi-performance SQ4 variant.

The Bavarian manufacturer pioneered the segment of coupe-like crossovers. Unlike Audi, for example, this company already has crossovers of many sizes with this body styles. This particular model came in 2014 and now it turns for some updates. Unfortunately for BMW, we already spotted a refreshed model, before its premiere.

It comes with a new rear end that features new taillights and also a license-plate mounting point that is now positioned on the bumper, instead of hatch. Besides new visual details, we are about to see a new M version with a diesel engine. Expect more than 355 horsepower from a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder diesel unit. The biggest novelty from the Bavarian carmaker will definitely be a new 2019 BMW X7. This famous manufacturer will finally enter the segment of full-size crossovers, after many years of waiting. The new model will adopt most of the technical achievements from the new 7-Series, including complete engine lineup, while the overall shape should be similar to X5, just in a bigger package

In North America, things are in the pretty much same direction. We are about to see several 2019 new SUV models and we definitely can’t skip the new product from GM. It is a completely new premium compact crossover, which will come as 2019 Cadillac XT3. Although it is still under a camouflage, many reports suggest that sales could start already in the middle of next year.

It will be a new mid-size crossover that will find its place between downsized Equinox and upsized Traverse.

The new Blazer will feature the same engine lineup as GMC Acadia, including a familiar V6. Both premiere and launch should happen somewhere in the second half of next year.

Another new model that will come in the second half of 2018 is the new Ford Explorer. The next generation of the famous crossover will come with some significant changes. Although it probably won’t feature bigger changes, this crossover is simply inevitable when it comes to utility vehicles. Praised for its amazing quality, it is the first choice for many car buyers. Since the current generation is present for about two years, we can’t expect bigger changes for the 2019 Honda Pilot.

The Nissan’s luxury division will also come with big novelties next year. A familiar QX50 will receive a so-needed overhaul. This redesign will include various changes. First of all, the new 2019 Infiniti QX50 will grow bigger. It will get a new platform, developed together with Mercedes-Benz. It is a modification of the architecture that underprints GLA and QX30 models.

Compared to this version, it features a longer wheelbase, which clearly sets the new model in range with premium crossovers like BMW X3 or Audi Q5. This is the brand’s best-selling model in the United States, so it is no wonder that the company takes special care about this model. The famous mid-size crossover came two years ago, which indicates that updates for the 2019 RX350 will not be significant. Most likely, the only visual change will be a new pair of taillights. On the other side, there are rumors about the new version with the new engine, which will be an addition to the current 350 and 450h models. However, the new model will have most in common with the upcoming 3-row Ascent. The new Forester will feature similar shape, just in a smaller package.
