2019 Nissan Patrol and Nismo Model Review

The 2019 Nissan Patrol is among the most popular SUVs and widely sold models of the Japanese car giant. Its roots can be traced back to 1950s and over the years the Patrol has also been manufactured as a truck variant.

It is sold now in Australian market along with South America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. It is sold as Nissan Armada in some other markets. For 2019, Nissan has updated the Patrol to an extent and it will get Nismo upgrade. The large SUV now boasts of gorgeous exterior styling and offers excellent performance.

The exterior styling of 2019 Nissan Patrol is enticing and macho, to say the least. The new SUV sports a revamped grille, new 18-inch alloy wheels and restyled LED lamps all over. The exterior of the new model will be available in seven colors Pearl White, Black, Gun Metallic, Silver, Titanium, Dark Brown and Desert Dune.

The cabin is also new and it is quite large. Its dashboard layout is sleek, and all trims have good quality materials and soft-touch surfaces.

There are enough cubicles, pockets and bins to store small gadgets and several beverage bottles. Furthermore, the back seat entertainment setup can be installed and it is ideal for media buffs. Cargo space of the 2019 Nissan Patrol is pretty good.

Safety Features and Amenities

Like most of the cars in the 2019 lineup of Nissan, the new Patrol gets several safety features and amenities are also quite decent. The new SUV gets Intelligent Rear-View Mirror setup. The rear-view mirror gets an LCD monitor. The top trim of this model gets driver assistance technologies like intelligent forward collision warning, blind spot assist, lane assist, 360-degree camera system and adaptive cruise control.

Features include satellite navigation, keyless start, Three-zone climate control and also Proximity key entry. The infotainment setup has been revamped to an extent and it gets accompanied by a large touch input unit. The UI is fluid and speed is quite good. It supports Bluetooth and USB.

All trims get features like auto Headlights, automated windscreen wipers, electronic stability control, six airbags, tire-pressure monitor. Optional is an radar-based cruise control and sunroof. Nissan also has options for standalone upgrades.

The newest Nismo model is a race-inspired version of Nissan’s legendary SUV-Patrol. This sports vehicle will get very attractive styling and much stronger engine. It is also recognized from its body kit that has red striping and red highlights on door mirrors.

If we compare this model with the standard one, the model Nismo will get a better aerodynamic design, great handling, and it will provide improved acceleration and better output. The interior of this model will come with two-tone, black-and-white leather on its seats and door panels. The red stripe and the red stitching are also present on the front seats.

For the safety, Nismo will include features like Distance Control Assist, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Forward Collision Warning, Brake Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Tire Pressure Monitor System and there is also a Low Tire Indicator and Active Head Restraints.

Under the hood, it offers the same 5.6-liter V-8 that as in the standard Patrol. However, the difference between a standard one and Nismo is in output. The Nismo model will get 428 HP that is 28-horsepower more than the standard one. Top speed of this model is 155 mph and it is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6 sec.

Unlike some of its segment rivals, the new 2019 Nissan Patrol gets only one engine. It is a 5.6-litre V8 engine that comes with a seven-speed automatic transmission gearbox. However, with this power setup, this engine can deliver 400 HP.

The advanced suspension offers great ride quality on all terrains and it can be taken to tame off roads as well. Fuel economy, however, is not its forte. The Patrol’s automatic 4WD system works like charm.

The newest and upcoming model 2019 Nissan Patrol starts at $50.000 for the base trim to the $62,000 that cost Nismo model. Both models will reach showrooms in late 2018 though the exact timing is unclear.

The 2019 Nissan Patrol and Nismo variant get a moderate revamp and it is a great large SUV with several things in place. The new enhanced safety tech is like icing on the cake and Nissan also leaves rooms for customizations. These models will fight with popular segment rivals like Toyota Land Cruiser and Cadillac Escalade.
