Nissan, the Japanese carmaker is keen on making its presence felt in electric and hybrid vehicle segment- as is evident from its latest moves. The Rogue compact crossover got its hybrid variant a year back and now the second incarnation of 2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is getting ready for release.
With the other models in the Rogue lineup- the hybrid version also gets its share of styling and technological revamps.
2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Design Changes
From outside, you may not be able to distinguish 2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid from its regular variant, as it is. The styling changes are subtle. The new grille design and bumpers are also noteworthy and the car may get new metallic exterior hues. The hybrid Rogue comes with two trims- SV and SL.
The cabin of 2019 Nissan Rogue hybrid is well designed and material quality receives a boost. However, the front row gets the company’s much-touted “Zero Gravity” seats. There is no third row and that leads to generous cargo space. Nissan has used noise insulating materials across the cabin of 2019 Rogue hybrid and the result is impressive. Default cargo space is 32 cubic feet. Nissan has also deployed flexible cargo setup in the car to make things easier for users.
2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Safety Features
The 2019 Rogue Sport is equipped with several modern safety features and amenities are also aplenty. The vehicle gets laden with a new version of Nissan Connect infotainment setup. It supports Bluetooth and navigation may come as an optional feature. A 7-inch touchscreen will be also there to control the features and Bose audio system is included as well. You get USB ports with a 12-volt outlet and Dual-zone climate control is included.
The vehicle has enough airbags, safety features like traction control, emergency braking and also a TPMS as standard. More advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control, 360-degree cameras, a blind-spot warning will come as options. There may be separate packages for the vehicle as well.
2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Engine
The hybrid powertrain used in 2019 Rogue hybrid is a nice unit and the resultant fuel economy is impressive too. The powertrain comprises of an electric motor and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. A lithium-ion battery is under the cargo area.
Furthermore, the powertrain is mated with a Xtronic continuously variable transmission setup. The output is 176 HP. While it is not a sporty car, the new Rogue Hybrid is not sluggish. The ride quality is good and urban driving should not be tedious.
2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Price and Release Date
The exact cost of 2019 Rogue Hybrid is a mystery. However, the base trim price may be close to $27.000. Release date should be in late 2018.
Summing it up
2019 Rogue Hybrid is Nissan’s ambitious effort to lure buyers in the hybrid segment. The popularity of regular Rogue version may also help the hybrid version to attract much more buyers. It has good styling and decent mileage both of which should work in its favor. However, the car will face stiff competition from the new Toyota RAV 4 hybrid upon release. The upcoming Kia Niro may also lock horns with it.
