2019 Range Rover P400E – Appearance and Tech

By and large, the 2019 Range Rover P400E resembles other Range Rover Sports versions. Virtually every model receives a batch of mid-cycle improvements both inside and out. The front fascia wears multi-LED headlamps, a more prominent chin and a new grille treatment. On the other hand, the rear end will include a chunkier bumper, new tail lamps and trapezoidal exhaust outlets.

The latest Range Rover receives a two-touchscreen system like in the updated Sport. One 10-inch screen is devoted to infotainment functions, whereas the other lower screen controls climate and seat settings. The inbound model also comes with 24-way adjustable front seats, which include a gesture-controlled sun-blind and massage functions.

2019 Range Rover P400E – Battery Pack and Range

The 2019 Range Rover P400E heading to the U.S. conveys a 2.0-liter I-4 engine that yields about 269 horsepower. Also, a 114-hp 85-kilowatt electric motor is located in between the powertrain and an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The entire unit powers a permanent 4-wheel drive system. With the help of a 7-KW onboard charger and 13.1-KW lithium-ion battery pack, the total combined output is rated at 398 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque.

The 2019 Range Rover P400E accelerates from 0-60 mph in less than 6.3 seconds, with speed topping out at 137 miles per hour. Like we said earlier, the P400e offers two separate driving modes. The Parallel Hybrid driving mode exists as the default mode, where the battery pack and engine supply the required power.

The other driving option is the EV mode. This mode enables the vehicle to travel up to 31 miles at speeds of 85 mph on a fully charged battery. The Parallel Driving mode utilizes a Predictive Energy Optimization to maximize efficiency through GPS and Navigation information when the destination is known. The Parallel mode also houses a Save function, which preserves the desired amount of battery power for a given time when silent motoring and/or zero emissions are required.

In the 2019 Range Rover P400E, you’ve got the option of using power from engine and motor or EV-only mode. A Save function is there to prevent the battery charge against dropping beyond a pre-selected level. When juices become low, this feature commands the vehicle to travel with the electric motor only. This happens when sufficient energy has been recuperated through charging or regenerative braking. That way, fuel economy is significantly improved.
