2019 Volvo XC70 Release date and Price

It looks like the famous Swedish carmaker is going to bring back its famous station wagon/crossover as 2019 Volvo XC70. This car was present on the market for a full two decades, between 1996 and 2016. For all those years, we have seen three generations and all of them were characterized by the company’s famous boxy approach. We have no doubt that the upcoming model will go in the same direction. So far, we don’t know many details about the next-generation model.

Most reports suggest that the new 2019 XC70 will have a lot in common with XC40, a compact crossover that became one of the company’s best-selling models. We are about to see a lot of novelties in various aspects as well as Volvo’s famous high level of safety. The new model is about to come pretty soon, maybe even late this year.

Other tweaks could be found on the bumper, in form of reshaped air intakes, fog lights etc.

Rest of the vehicle should resemble previous generations. The 2019 Volvo XC70 will come in a familiar crossover/station wagon layout, which combines practicality and interior/cargo volume with high ground clearance. Of course, we would be disappointed if we wouldn’t see the famous boxy approach at the rear end.

This company is famous for its special approach to the safety aspect, so we have no doubt that the new model will come with a whole bunch of advanced systems. Things like a rearview camera, lane departure warning and mitigation, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking should be standard features in all models. Higher trims will also get systems like auto-dimming exterior mirrors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, front and rear parking sensors and an automated parking system, as well as 360-degree camera system and turn-adaptive headlights.

A so-called City Safety feature is one of the most interesting systems that Swedish manufacturer offer. As we’ve already mentioned, the new CMA platform is also capable of accommodating electrified powertrain. One of the versions that should come in the near future is a hybrid system that consists of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and electric motor, with a max power around 180 horses. An all-electric version is expected to come in next few years as well.
