2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid Review, Specs

The next generation of Audi’s subcompact crossover is in the final stage of development and should hit the market this year. Along with conventional gasoline models, we count on a 2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid as well. Considering the current situation on the market, the electrified seems natural, especially if we consider that the current generation falls short in terms of performances and fuel economy. The current generation is pretty unimpressive in this area, so a hybrid version is definitely more than welcome.

In terms of base design characteristics, this version definitely won’t go far away from standard models. We count on the same overall design, which will bring improvements in terms of the style, ride quality, comfort and much more. Also, we hope that the new model will come with far more standard equipment. The 2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid should arrive at the same time as standard models, sometime in the second half of year.

2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid Redesign

As we already mentioned, the 2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid won’t go far away from standard models. Count on a completely new design, which will sport a familiar MQB architecture. This platform is used for pretty much all small cars from the VW Group and seems perfect for this occasion. Therefore, count on significant improvements in various aspect. One of the biggest drawbacks of the current model is poor handling, which definitely isn’t on a satisfying level. The new model should come with much better driving dynamics. It will be much better in corners, while the overall driving experience should finally be on par with main rivals from two other German premium carmakers. In terms of dimensions, we are pretty sure that the new model won’t change too much. It will feature similar size, as well as pretty much the same overall shape.

2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid Styling

This carmaker is not famous for surprises when it comes to the styling. Therefore, we don’t expect anything different from the 2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid. Of course, it will feature the same styling as standard models, which means a pretty conventional approach. Compared to the previous generation, it will keep familiar overall shape, but with much sharper lines. This primarily refers to the front end, which will come with a new face, the same one that can be seen on the new Q5 model. Moreover, the whole model should be some kind of a downsized version of its bigger brother. It is still unknown whether the hybrid version is about to feature some differences or not. Most likely, we will see just some minor distinctive details. Those mainly refer to relatively marginal areas, such as wheels, grille pattern etc.

2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid Interior

The current generation already features a pretty upscale interior, so we have no doubt that the new model will continue in the same way. The 2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid will feature quite same interior layout as standard models. That means the same dashboard design overall cabin look. The current generation already comes with leather upholstery as standard, so we expect the same from the 2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid. The overall cabin dimensions will remain similar. In practice, this means lots of space in the front row and a decent amount of legroom in the second one. The cargo area should be about average for the class.

When it comes to standard features, we expect a lot of improvements compared to the current generation, which definitely isn’t too generous in most basic variants. The 2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid should particularly well-equipped, in range with higher gasoline trim levels. We hope that the company’s famous 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, known as Virtual Cockpit, will be available as well.

2020 Audi Q3 Hybrid Powertrain

The current generation is available with a plethora of engine. Unfortunately, only one made to the U.S. market. It is a 200-hp four-cylinder engine, which definitely seems underpowered, compared to main rivals. Therefore, we expect to see something new in the next year. Besides gasoline units in the offer, the new model will come in a plug-in hybrid version as well. It will definitely be based on some four-cylinder engine, though we still don’t know details about it.

Another great news is that the hi-performance RS Q3 version will finally come to the North American market. It looks like it will continue with a familiar five-cylinder 2.5-liter unit. However, we will see a nice power boost for this occasion. Allegedly, a max output will go up to 400 horsepower.
