2020 BMW X7 M, Price, Release date, Interior

The X7 is yet to arrive. We expect it to show up every day. But, the German carmaker could prolong the debut for the next season. Anyway, the 2020 BMW X7 is not going to be different from what the company presented earlier. This is a new full-size luxury SUV. It is coming to compete with Mercedes-Benz GLS and Lexus LX. Of course, in the US, the SUV will face toughest rivals – Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator.

Everything about the 2020 BMW X7 is new. Styling, platform, interior… But, the SUV will use old engines. Still, these are reliable and powerful enough to burst out at least 335 hp. Want more? Then pick an M package with tremendous outputs over 600 horsepower. This version will come slightly later than the base model with a significantly higher price tag. We know all about the new X7, so it is just a matter of time when it is going to hit the market.

2020 BMW X7 Specs

Under the bonnet of the base 2020 BMW X7 is a 3.0-liter engine with 335 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. A turbo-six drivetrain is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel xDrive is a full-time feature. The SUV with this engine will need just over six seconds to accelerate to 60 mph. This time drops under 5.5 seconds with a 4.4 V8 engine. This version will also put up some muscles, with 120 ponies and 150 pound-feet more than the standard setup. The same transmission is using the xDrive to distribute power to all wheels.

Diesel Engines

Outside the USA, the 2020 BMW X7 will offer diesel units. For the first edition of a full-time luxury model, we will see a 3.0-liter turbodiesel unit that puts out 260 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Of course, diesel powertrain needs more time to speed up. European buyers will wait 7 seconds for their X7 to sprint 0-60 mph. On the other hand, there is an M version with the quad-turbo setup. This configuration matches the acceleration of a 4.4-l V8 petrol unit. At the same time, it delivers 400 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque.

Top of the Class 2020 BMW X7 M Edition

The most advanced features are coming with the 2020 BMW X7 M model. The M performance is tuning a 4.4-liter quad-turbo V8 engine to deliver an incredible amount of power. Although the numbers are not official yet, we expect over 600 ponies from this setup. The retuned transmission will deliver sportier gear change. This SUV will need around 4.5 seconds to sprint to 60 mph.

There is not all about the performance, but also the styling. Premium leather is covering upholstery and seats. Also, the exterior will be beefed up with interesting details, more aggressive grille at first place and special paintjobs. Custom display and cockpit equipment are unique and even the standard offer will stun you with the number of advanced features. Well, the price is another thing that will stop your breath. The new M package on the full-size SUV will cost at least $120,000. Well, that means the interesting rivalry next season between X7 M and Mercedes AMG GLS63.

2020 BMW X7 Standard Equipment, Driver Assist Features, and More

When buying a standard package, you will get some things that are optional on other models. Well, the 2020 BMW X7 gets the latest version of the company’s infotainment system. It includes a 12-inch touchscreen display and an audio system with 10 speakers. Navigation with real-traffic updates and parking spots on streets is available as well. When picking the xDrive50i model with a V8 engine, you are getting Harman Kardon audio, while Bowers and Wilkins are offering the 20-speaker system as optional.

Among the plenty of safety features, we are choosing these three: frontal collision warning with city collision mitigation, lane departure warning, and blind-spot detection. The first one will brake if necessarily. The seconds one warns you if you cross lines and the third one will help you see approaching vehicles by steering wheel vibration or lighting signals in the mirror.

The 2020 BMW X7 is the largest SUV so far in the lineup of the Bavarian carmaker. It is 203 inches long, 79 inches wide, and 71 inches high. The wheelbase is 122 inches. That is enough to accommodate seven persons inside in three rows of seats. The overall weight of the SUV is between 5,100 and 5,500 pounds, depending on a trim level, engine, and equipment.

2020 BMW X7 Price

Starting price of the 2020 BMW X7 is going to be around $75,000. We are waiting for the launch of the new SUV to find out all the details about its cost and models we will see. Larger xDrive50i brings a 4.4-l V6 engine and adds nearly $20,000 on the initial value. The price will go over $100,000 pretty fast with few upgrades. We already mentioned the X7 M model whose price will start somewhere between $120,000 and $130,000.
