It sends power through an eight-speed automatic transmission to all wheels. We will see if the X8 could get a 2WD, but it is unlikely to happen. This drivetrain is very powerful with 335 hp. Thanks to the torque of 330 lb-ft, the SUV will need less than 6 seconds to sprint 0-60 mph. Top speed is going to be limited to 130 mph, while the towing capacity is going to be around 7,500 pounds.

Will There Be BMW X8 M?

The 2020 BMW X8 will be available in Europe with a diesel engine. On the other hand, it is uncertain if the company will go after such an adventure in the USA. The totally different market requires a lot of modifications. However, options will be an xDrive30d – a 3.0-liter V6 unit with outputs of 260 hp and 460 lb-ft. An M version outside the US will use a diesel engine that will help the SUV stop the clock just above 5 seconds for sprint 0-60 mph. An m50d drivetrain bursts 400 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. Also, top speed is set at 155 mph. Too bad these engines are not coming overseas.
