2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition Review

The 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline is the special version of the three-row SUV. This model is available in SEVEN trim levels, but only one offers the unique upgrade, Redline Edition. You need to choose the Premier model and then add this package that costs $2,500. With it, the price of the new 2020 Traverse is just under $50,000.

The Redline add-on is one of the many packages available for Chevy vehicles and Traverse SUV. High Country is top of the class model with the most equipment. We can consider it as the premium vehicle. On the other hand, if you want to boost the performance, there is an RS package. But, the 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline offers the unique combination of interior and exterior upgrades. As its name suggests, a lot of red accents will ensure you didn’t make a mistake by purchasing it.

What is 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline?

We can organize seven trim levels for the Traverse SUV in a few groups. There are the entry-level models L, LS, and LT Cloth. Their price is reasonable, but these versions are not offering too many extra features. LT Leather, RS, and Premier are the mid-range offer with price between $40,000 and $50,000. High Country is the most expensive version. But, when we upgrade the Premier trim with the Redline package, we will get a cool SUV, which also belongs to the high-end segment.

Redline package is a special upgrade for some Chevy models. Currently, nine vehicles are offering this package as the optional mode. Besides the Traverse, the suite is available for Trax and Equinox crossovers. But, these models are using it as an update for the LT trim. Colorado truck is also offering Redline edition for the LT package, while its bigger sibling, Silverado 1500, is the only vehicle that has this suite available for two different configurations. Z71 trim is required, and you have to pick either Double Cab or Crew Cab, and LT or LTZ models. Cruze LT, Malibu LT, and Camaro LT/SS are Redline Edition capable cars.

Features and Accessories (Redline Edition)

The package comes with some common equipment for all these vehicles. However, each of them has unique add-ons and features that best suits its nature. The 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline is adding large 20-inch wheels. Rims are painted in gloss black. Of course, there are red accents to make an appearance more aggressive. Gloss black is the color of windows surround and designers are darkening the tail lamps. A lot of upgrades are coming in black – mirror caps, door handles, wheel opening, grille, license plate, fog lamp bezels, Chevy’s badges, and roof rails. Red and Black Ice details are contrasting all these black parts. The 2020 Traverse Redline also comes with Dual Skyscape 2-panel power sunroof.

Premier Trim Level Equipment

The second most equipped trim level brings most features you can find on the LT Leather model. But, the company is spicing up the offer with unique features. Premier model brings ventilated front buckets with perforated leather upholstery. Heating is available for lower tiers already, but the Premier installs radiators for the second row as well. Instead of a bench for three persons, now you are getting a couple of captain’s chairs.

The most notable infotainment upgrades are wireless charging, rear camera mirror, and navigation on the 8-inch touchscreen display. Furthermore, Premier (and of course Redline Edition) are equipped with power tilt/telescopic steering and memory driver seat.

Outside, you will recognize this model by a dual exhaust system with rectangular tips. Chromed details (door handles, wheels, moldings…) turns into black with 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline model. Still, the Premier package also easies access to the cargo area by hands-free power liftgate. Emblem projection will welcome you.

2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Specs

A nine-speed automatic transmission sends power either to the front or all wheels. Driver shift control is available as well. Start/stop system is standard.

There are rumors about the new hybrid engine. However, it is still unknown if the Traverse is getting it, or only its premium sibling, the all-new Cadillac XT6. On the other hand, another drivetrain is available for the Traverse SUV, but exclusively for the RS edition. A 2.0-liter turbo-four is a high-performance drivetrain which cannot be combined with the 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline.

The 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Price

If this is too expensive, then the base model starts at $31,000, the LS adds $3,000 and LT Cloth $5,000. Replace the cloth with leather and prepare $41,000 for the Traverse. Performance-oriented RS model costs $45k. Top of the line version is the High Country. Unique upgrades will increase the price to $52,000. Besides the Redline edition, Premier trim also offers Hit The Road suite, Blackout edition (replaces Redline), and various groups of interior accessories
