2020 Hyundai Tucson N, Redesign, Price

It looks like the company prepares to introduce a completely new generation of this popular crossover as 2020 Hyundai Tucson. Currently, in the third generation, this compact SUV has been one of the company’s most popular models for years.

The current version is present since 2015 but it was already updated this year, for the 2018-year model. It looks like the things are going pretty fast with this company since rumors about complete redesign already appeared. According to these reports, the all-new model could come already in about two years.

Some reliable sources suggest a complete overhaul that will include the company’s new architecture, which is about to bring many benefits. Big changes under the hood are also expected. Though it is still early for some more specific speculation, a hybrid version seems possible too.

2020 Hyundai Tucson Redesign

According to several reliable sources, the Korean manufacturer is working on the next-generation 2020 Hyundai Tucson. It looks like the new model is already in an advanced phase of development and that the company prepares a lot of novelties. First of all, there is a completely new architecture to come. The new platform should debut with this crossover but later used for other compact cars from the company as well. We expect to see a lot of benefits from this overhaul.

The new chassis should bring a lot of improvements, including significant weight savings, as well as a completely new suspension. Such an approach should provide much better driving dynamics, which has always been a week spot of this crossover, compared to the competition.

2020 Hyundai Tucson Styling

Of course, a new styling is always the most notable thing about every redesign. In this case, we really don’t know what to expect. The current-generation model has been refreshed recently and it comes with a bunch of new styling details. The new version adopts the brand’s new design language, which includes new cascade grille, new headlights, taillights, bumpers and much more. Considering such significant changes, it is hard to predict the direction where the new 2020 Hyundai Tucson will be going. In terms of styling, this is the freshest thing that Hyundai can offer at the moment, so it would be irrational to expect some radical changes in such a short period. Most likely, the company will continue to evolve the current design language, by adding subtle changes only. Also, don’t expect bigger changes in terms of overall shape and proportions.

The recent facelift also included a major interior update, which clearly points to the look of the new-generation model. There are numerous significant changes that came with this update. First of all, the dashboard has been completely redesigned and now comes with a completely new touchscreen, as well as many other controls. So, the next generation shouldn’t bring some radical turnaround. Once again, expect to see a bunch of subtle changes. The new architecture should also bring benefits in terms of interior space, especially for rear passengers. Finally, we are pretty sure that the company will introduce some new technologies meanwhile, especially in terms of safety systems, which will find the place in the new model.

2020 Hyundai Tucson Engine

Until last year, this crossover was available in two powertrain options, when it comes to the North American market. The updated version drops 1.6-liter gasoline engine and relies only on a familiar 2.4-liter unit. This naturally-aspirated gasoline engine has a max output of 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque and comes in a pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

This leaving on a single engine option seems like a clear indicator that we are about to see some interesting novelties under the hood for the upcoming redesign. Most likely, we will see a new 2.0-liter turbo inline-four in the offer. This engine is good for about 232 horsepower and seems like a perfect fit for this small crossover.  Some reports suggest a diesel engine in the offer as well. It would be a familiar 2.2-liter unit with around 200 horsepower. Finally, expect to see a hybrid variant in the near future.

2020 Hyundai Tucson Release Date and Price

Most likely, the new 2020 Hyundai Tucson will come in about two years. We can’t say anything more precise than that at the moment. When it comes to the price, we expect to see a price range similar to the current model, which goes between 22.500 and 30.000 dollars. Competition in the segment is extremely tough. Some of the class leaders are models like Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Mazda CX-5, Toyota Rav4, Subaru Forester and others.
