2020 Infiniti QX50 Redesign, Sport, Release date

The class of premium compact crossovers is definitely one of the most competitive segments in the automotive industry these days. Despite many competitors, the QX50 definitely has a set of good things to offer. The current model came more than a year ago and it represents the second generation of this quality SUV. The 2020 Infiniti QX50 will represent the second production year, so we have no doubt that it will come without too many changes.

Most of the design characteristics will remain unchanged, which is natural considering the model’s age. We are about to see a familiar styling, lots of luxury features but a fine dose of practicality as well. Under the hood, the 2020 Infiniti QX50 will definitely continue with a familiar turbo-four engine, but don’t be surprised if you see a new V6 option in the offer as well. In any case, the new model will come in a typical time of a year, sometime in the last quarter.

2020 Infiniti QX50 Redesign

In terms of base design characteristics, this compact crossover definitely won’t change. The recent redesign has brought a lot of novelties and the first thing you’ll notice is a completely new styling. The new model looks far more attractive than its predecessor. It follows the brand’s newest design language, which is characterized by a sharper approach, compared to the previous generation. Of course, the biggest difference is at the front end, where you can notice familiar headlights and grille layouts, same that can be noticed in newest sedans and coupes from this premium carmaker. Considering the recent arrival, the 2020 Infiniti QX50 definitely won’t feature more important changes in terms of the styling. The best we can get could be new color options.

Mechanically, there is no chance to see any important change until a mid-cycle update. The new model rides on a familiar D platform and shares most of the parts with the current-generation Nissan Murano. The next year won’t bring any change in terms of the chassis or suspension setup, but it won’t be surprised if we see a new optional engine in the offer.

The second production year usually doesn’t bring anything important, except maybe more standard equipment. This is where we could see changes for the 2020 Infiniti QX50. It could easily come with more standard equipment on the inside, particularly with some new tech goodies. This especially refers to latest smartphone integration features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are currently unavailable.

The rest of the cabin will probably remain unchanged, with the exception of possible new color schemes. This redesign has brought significant improvement. While the original model was criticized by not so premium-like cabin, the new model comes full of soft-touch materials and real premium interior design. This refers not just to the dashboard design to other areas of the cabin as well, including front seats that are among the most comfortable in the class. The rear bench is also pretty comfortable and offers a lot of legs and headroom.

The 2020 Infiniti QX50 won’t be just stylish, but practical as well. This cabin is full of small storage compartments, while the cargo area is among the most spacious in the class. There aren’t many competitors that can match QX50’s 31 cubic feet behind rear seats. The overall cargo space goes all away up to 64 cubic feet.

When it comes to tech features, a new dual-screen layout dominates the dashboard. The upper one runs the infotainment system, while the one below works for climate and other controls. Both screens are large enough, though we must say that graphics and response could be better. Other notable tech features are a six-speaker audio system, satellite radio, a USB port, Bluetooth etc. Higher trims offer much more, so you can also get things like a moonroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, 17-speaker premium Bose audio system, navigation and more.

2020 Infiniti QX50 Engine

The 2020 Infiniti QX50 will definitely continue with Nissan’s new 2.0-liter engine, which is one of the most powerful turbo-four units in the class. It delivers pretty impressive 268 horsepower. Besides plenty of power, this engine also features pretty good fuel economy, better than that most rivals, which also feature less power. With this one, you can count on 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
Still, most rivals have V6 options in the offer. Latest reports suggest that the Japanese manufacturer will also introduce a new V6 engine for this crossover. We are still waiting for the official confirmation.

2020 Infiniti QX50 Release Date and Price

Considering that the 2020 Infiniti QX50 will represent the second production year of the new generation, we probably won’t see this model on the market before late 2019. We also don’t expect changes in price, so base models should go around 36.500 dollars.
