2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE, SVR, Price, Interior

If the 197-inch Range Rover full-size SUV is too big for you, but you still like JLR’s styling and performance, then the Sport model could be suitable. The second generation of the mid-size three-row vehicle arrived a year after the latest version of its bigger sibling. The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport will get a new drivetrain and the company is also working on the improvements of the PHEV system.

The SUV is very versatile, with plenty of options offered to its buyers. A mid-size model is starting with the turbo-four unit and ends up with a high-output V8. We already mentioned the plug-in hybrid based on a petrol mill.

Safety and comfort are on the highest level thanks to the premium equipment. Well, we know that Jaguar-Land Rover is not going to disappoint their fans. The SUV for the next season is coming unchanged, with Autobiography model being the top offer. We won’t count the SVR, which is a world for itself with 575 horsepower.

How Powerful is 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Plug-in Hybrid?

The British carmaker is preparing a surprise for enthusiasts following the news every day. A pair of plug-in hybrid configurations are on the way. Both are based on a 3.0-liter V6 engine and JLR combines it with a 48-volt hybrid battery. There are two different versions, P360e and P400e. The first one steps up with 355 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. A more powerful, and more expensive version, offers 404 hp and 405 pound-feet of torque.

If you compare it to the existing turbo V6, we see the significant boost. The range and acceleration depend on the size of the electric battery. Buyers will get either 26 or 31 miles. All-wheel drive is standard and the SUV needs 6.5 seconds to accelerate 0-60 mph.

What Other Engines Are Available?

The JLR makes the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport one of the most versatile SUVs in the world with a variety of drivetrains. As said, the offer starts with a supercharged four-cylinder engine. A 2.0-liter unit delivers 295 hp and 296 lb-ft of torque. Well, we still don’t know if this plug-in hybrid is going to be available after the V6 engine raises the level of power.

A pair of V6 setups is still there with superchargers. The first configuration is delivering 340 hp and 332 lb-ft, while the more powerful option is adding 40 hp and 8 pound-feet of torque. Let’s not forget that 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is going to offer something for diesel lovers. A 3.0-liter turbo V6 is capable to burst 255 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of twisting power.

2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Autobiography and SVR

This is not all by the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport and its drivetrains. Autobiography version is going to use a 5.0-liter V8. Again, engineers are taking advantages of the supercharged system to achieve high outputs. In this case, the SUV achieves 520 hp and 460 lb-ft. The power is sent through an eight-speed automatic gearbox to all four corners of the vehicle. Of course, designers will also have a lot of jobs to provide more luxury.

The final configuration stands at the top of the range. If you are keen on the 575 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque, then look for the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR. This output harms the fuel economy, but the SUV still manages to return a respectable amount of gas mileage. Combined, that is 16 mpg.

Accessories and Trim Levels

Most trim levels have one engine to offer. Only the first two trims are available with two different drivetrains. The base models of the luxury mid-size SUV will be five-seaters. Leather is standard, as well as parking sensors and advanced infotainment system. The InConnect will come with dual 10-inch screens and Touch Pro system. Believe or not, the navigation is there even on SE and HSE trims.

There is still something left for upper trim levels. HSE Dynamic, Autobiography, and SVR are optional models. The most advanced features, such as automatic parking, or blind-spot monitor are some of them. The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport will recognize traffic signs and some versions will boost an off-road drive. A 23-speaker Meridian audio system, third row, or panoramic moonroof are also available through various packages.

Prices

The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport will not change the price. The entry-level model is pretty expensive with $70,000 price tag for the SE trim. The plug-in hybrid system will add $10k and diesel is only $2,000 worth upgrade. Also, a more powerful hybrid starts from $85,000.

The 2020 Range Rover Sport could become the most expensive vehicle in its class. The high-end SVR version costs $130,000, which is more than Mercedes GLE AMG 63, or BMW X6M. The lighter version doesn’t offer Meridian audio system and it is $15,000 cheaper.
