NX is not the smallest crossover by Lexus anymore. The UX took its position as the subcompact model. However, the company still treats its compact SUV as the special one, so the new 2020 Lexus NX300 will come redesigned. Well, some similarities between and its new sibling are obvious, especially in the cabin. The interior will take the most modifications, while the drivetrain lineup remains the same. The vehicle also comes in a hybrid variant, as 2020 Lexus NX300h model.
That is not all about the NX. An F Sport is the most attractive version with aggressive upgrades inside and outside the ride. With so many options, the 2020 Lexus NX300 will be one of the most versatile models in the market. Still, its price is pretty attractive, although it belongs to a luxury class. 2020 Lexus NX300 Drivetrains, Hybrid
We consider the 2020 Lexus NX300 as the crossover with many options. But, if you expect the big choice for drivetrain lineup, you will have to search elsewhere. The NX uses only one petrol engine. It is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Still, a turbocharger maximizes its output. The entire configuration is ready to deliver 235 hp and 260 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is paired with this drivetrain. Lexus could replace it with a CVT, which is currently available only for a hybrid drivetrain. The fuel economy is not so bad for the base setup, though. The standard Lexus NX300 will return 22/28 mpg. The F Sport uses an AWD only and consumes 1 mpg more in each segment.
The more efficiency is coming from a 2020 Lexus NX300h model. This is a hybrid drivetrain that uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The base output is 155 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. Electric motor positioned on the front axle is capable to create 140 hp, while the rear one can produce 65 ponies. The total power of the hybrid system is 194 hp. These two electric batteries are more efficient, especially in the urban drive. The 2020 Lexus NX300h can provide 33 mpg in the city. the drivetrain uses a CVT transmission that redirects power to all wheels.
2020 Lexus NX300 Changes
The new 2020 Lexus NX300 will borrow some things from its close siblings that entered a new generation recently. These are subcompact UX and mid-size three-row GX SUV. Both of these are using many features from the futuristic LF-1 concept. The platform is advertised as the architecture for the future, capable to handle diesel, hybrid, or even all-electric setups. Well, the new Lexus NX300 will be one of the models that will take advantage of its features and styling. Still, the NX is not picking up the entire look of the prototype, although we would like to see changes on the front and rear fascia.
The interior of the new 2020 Lexus NX300 will go through a bigger redesign. Although the current model can compete with the most advanced vehicles in the premium segment, Lexus and Toyota will try to push it beyond the limits of expectations. Of course, the LF-1 Limitless concept will be pretty helpful with solutions it offers. Also, the parent company is developing a new infotainment system, and more vehicles are already getting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto services. 2020 Lexus NX300 F Sport
The most interesting version of the compact crossover is the 2020 Lexus NX300 F Sport. As its name suggests, we will find some sporty upgrades all around the vehicle. Unique bumpers and grille will make the rig more aggressive. Also, the rear end will suffer modifications, compared to the standard model, which also goes through a revisit. Bold styling outside is followed with interior comfort and elegance. Unique gauges and features will improve overall impression and driving quality. 2020 Lexus NX300 Debut and Competition
After five years, the compact crossover will go through a serious redesign. It is enough to plan a big premiere of the 2020 Lexus NX300. We still don’t have a schedule of the release, but this model will arrive by the end of this year. The price will be slightly modified. The base model will be available from $37,000. With all-wheel drive, you will add $1,500. The F Sport version costs $2,500 over the standard offer, same as the hybrid upgrade.
