The current generation is on the market for about four years and it looks like the current year is perfect for a mid-cycle update.

We are about to see a fine number of changes and most of them will be inspired by the recently facelifted C-Class sedan. Count on new exterior details, as well as on a lot of revisions on the inside. Latest reports also suggest changes under the hood. Familiar engines will receive a nice power boost. Expect to see the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC sometime in the third quarter of the year.

2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Design and Exterior Changes

A common thing for all mid-cycle updates is that exterior changes are most notable. The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC won’t be an exception. This will be a typical facelift. The testing model has been spotted, so we can easily see which changes are about to come modified. Of course, the focus will be on the front end. The new model will come with revisions on the grille, as well as with a reshaped front bumper. From the side, we will see new side skirts, while the rear end is about to suffer in areas like taillights, rear bumper etc. Typically for facelifts, the new model will also come with new wheels and few more colors in the offer.

On the other side, mechanics and overall design are about to remain unchanged. This model will continue to ride on the same chassis and feature same dimensions. Of course, count on two body styles in the offer. Besides in typical SUV layout, this model also comes as a coupe-crossover.

2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Interior

The interior of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC will also come with several interesting changes. Of course, the base layout will remain the same, but we count on a lot of novelties on the dashboard. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is a new touchscreen. Unfortunately, we won’t see a new dual-screen layout from the A-Class, but a new screen from the recently revised C-Class. Besides a new center stack, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC will also feature a new touchpad at the center console, as well as a new instrument cluster. Finally, count on a new steering wheel, with more mounted controls.

Rest of the cabin will probably remain the same, which definitely isn’t a bad thing. This model is one of the class leaders when it comes to materials and overall build quality. All areas are soft on touch and you can notice the presence of materials like wood and leatherette already in most basic models.

The cargo volume is pretty much a class average. You can count on 19.4 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 56.5 cubic feet of overall cargo space. On the other side, a coupe version is a little bit tight, so you can count on only 17.6 cubic feet behind the back-row seats and 49.4 cubic feet of space with the rear seats folded.

Another area where we expect to change is a list of standard equipment. Still, keep in mind that the current model is already well-equipped and that even most basic models come with a full load of standard equipment. When it comes to the powertrain, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC will continue with familiar engines in the offer. There is a wide offer of engines in the offer and some of them will come with a fine power boost. This primarily refers to more basic options. So, a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four will come with additional 14 horses, so a max output will go up to 255 hp. A 3.0-liter twin turbo will also come with a nice power boost, from 362 to 385 horsepower. Rest of the lineup, including AMG models, is about to continue in the same way.
