2020 Porsche Macan Redesign, Turbo, S

It looks like the small crossover from the famous sports carmaker is about to get another update for the 2020 Porsche Macan model. This compact SUV has been introduced four years ago, in 2014. Two years later, we have seen an update that has brought several subtle changes. Though someone would expect a redesign soon, and nothing to be changed until then, the company actually works on some improvements of the current generation. If we can trust the latest reports, this will be a classic facelift. It will include various styling improvements, but revisions under the hood as well. Also, count on revisions on the inside, where 2020 Macan is about to get new touchscreen interfaces and a few other novelties. Expect to see new model sometime in the next year.

The famous manufacturer from Stuttgart is finalizing the process of updating this small crossover, which became one of the company’s most popular models. Just like it’s the case with every facelift, the focus is primarily on the styling upgrades. This one won’t be an exception, so the 2020 Porsche Macan is about to come with various visual details. Of course, most of the new parts will come at the front, where we are about to see a completely new front fascia, as well as a new grille design. When it comes to headlights, we will see changes on the inside, in terms of different lighting groups, while the overall shape is about to remain the same. On the back end, the 2020 Porsche Macan is about to get a new pair of taillights. Although still camouflaged, we are pretty sure in the same design as on new Cayenne.

Rest of the crossover shouldn’t change a lot. We are about to see the same overall shape, though some reports suggest a more coupe-like version to come as well. Finally, expect to see few novelties in terms of colors, as well as new wheels designs.

2020 Porsche Macan Interior Changes

The 2020 Porsche Macan will get few novelties on the inside as well. According to the latest reports, we will see revisions on the dashboard. The central area is about to get a new touchscreen and fewer analog controls. Expect something similar to the new Panamera, which came last year. Rest of the cabin shouldn’t be changed a lot. Still, expect to see things like new color schemes and few additions in terms of standard equipment.

Speaking of the standard equipment, expect to see night vision assistant and advanced Porsche InnoDrive system available. The overall structure, though, should remain the same. There are five trim levels in the offer – base, S, GTS, Turbo and Turbo with Performance Package. Even the base models come with standard features like 18-inch wheels, three-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, a lane departure warning system, a power liftgate, xenon headlights, 10-speaker audio system and much more.

The Macan S comes with nice visual enhancements, which include new exhaust pipes, different exterior trim, bigger wheels etc. Moving next to GTS, you get things like adaptive air suspension, front-seat memory functions and heated sports seats unique to the GTS etc.

In Macan Turbo, you can count on things like full leather upholstery, adaptive dampers, heated steering wheel, premium 14-speaker audio system etc.

Finally, Turbo with Performance Package adds various tweaks to the chassis that save weight, new suspension with lower ground clearance, as well with some engine tweaks that bring more power.

A big novelty for the 2020 Porsche Macan should be a new GT3 RS version.

This should be the most interesting novelty for the 2020 Porsche Macan. This badge is reserved for the company’s fastest models. Compared to the rest of the lineup, we won’t just see a more powerful engine, but several other tweaks as well. Expect to see further suspension enhancements, as well as various new styling details. Of course, the base contour will remain the same, but the 2020 Porsche Macan GT3 RS will come with a lot of new bodywork that will emphasize its performance characteristics.

Same goes for the interior design, where we expect to see a revised touchscreen interface with primary use for performance system. When it comes to the engine, we should see the same V6 that powers 911 GT3 RS. It is a famous, beautifully-sounding naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter V6 engine which is good for about 500 horsepower and 336 pound-feet of torque. This should ensure 0-60 spring in around 3.3 seconds, while a top speed should go around 180 miles per hour.

Besides new GT3 RS that is about to come with a new powertrain, the rest of the lineup will remain the same. Base models feature a small but efficient 2.0-liter turbo inline-four unit, which is good for 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.

The next one is a 3.0-liter V6, which delivers 340 hp and 339 pound-feet of torque. This unit powers Macan S. For the Macan GTS, the company offers the same engine but with more power, which goes around 360 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque.

Moving next to the 2020 Porsche Macan Turbo and you get a bigger 3.6-liter V6, which is good for about 400 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the same engine is available in a more powerful version in a version with Performance Package. It delivers around 435 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. All versions come with the same 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

2020 Porsche Macan Release Date and Price

We expect to see the updated 2020 Porsche Macan sometime in the next year. Still, a more precise date is yet to be announced. When it comes to the price, the current model comes in a range between 47.000 and 90.000 dollars. With the addition of new GT3 RS, this range will be even wider.

Competition in the segment is pretty tough. This model is definitely one of the key players in the class. Still, there are many other excellent crossovers in the offer. Those are models like Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, Jaguar I-Pace, Land Rover Discovery and many others.
