2020 Toyota Fortuner Engines

Total of six powertrains are in the offer. Well, not all of them are available in every market. Toyota will shake things up and add some engines to other countries where these weren’t accessible. The base solution under the hood of the petrol SUV is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. As you can assume, this is the weaker option. The four-pot engine is good for 160 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. Toyota Tacoma is using this one in the US.

However, for more serious power and torque, buyers can purchase the 2020 Toyota Fortuner with a V6 engine. A 4.0-liter displacement is capable to produce 180 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. Fortuner Diesel Specs and Options

We can also hear rumors that either 3.0 or 2.8 unit can be the next drivetrain of the Toyota Tacoma truck in the USA. However, these engines must go through a big tuning to meet all the requirements of the largest truck market. Emissions are the main problems of diesel drivetrains.

All engines except both 3.0 mills are offering both automatic and manual transmission. Both gearboxes have six paces. Naturally-aspirated V6 comes with a five-speed manual transmission, while the D-4D option automates the gear switching.

The new 2020 Toyota Fortuner will be redesigned. It is entering a fifth year of the new generation. So, it is time for a mid-cycle update. Several times the company gave us hints about it.
