The next generation of the Chevrolet Tahoe is delayed for 2021 season. The company didn’t manage to finish all the things started for its full-size SUV, so the all-new vehicle comes with a delay. So, all the things we expected for the next season are still probable. Some of them will be part of the 2020 lineup. Whatsoever, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe will introduce some new radical changes to its look, outside and inside.

There are few interesting ideas for the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. Some rumors are even speaking of a two-door version. Well, this flashback is not impossible (later you will see why). However, this will be only a variation, if appears, of course. Spy photos of both Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban are showing the independent rear suspension. This way, the GM will make its big rigs more durable and capable of an off-road drive. These images are also unveiling some other interesting details, but we are still far away from the production model. In the best scenario, the next-gen SUV will debut late next year.
What We Can See on Spy Photos
The new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe is already being tested. Well, we thought the new generation is coming for the 2020 season. So, tests are ongoing for a while, since the GM is looking for the perfect combination of styling and driving. The second part of the riddle is more complicating. On Images, we can see independent rear suspension. So, this is one of the biggest changes for the upcoming SUV. That is probably one of the main reason for the delay. On the other hand, there is a lot of camouflage on the body, so the new look is on the way as well. We still don’t know details, but be sure the all-new Tahoe is going to be stunning and more aggressive than before. The last big redesign happened in 2015. However, after only six years, the full-size SUV is heading into the new generation.

2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Concept
The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe will use an all-new concept. A lot of things will be borrowed from the sporty FNR-CarryAll platform. The architecture that debuted in China last year is suitable for the US model as well. It can take up to three rows of seats. However, we still don’t know if the new Tahoe is going to keep eight-seat layout or the company is creating more space by cutting one spot. Of course, there are few other concepts and ideas available, which can also help the new Tahoe. All in all, the SUV promises an aggressive appearance and a lot of fun driving.
Is Tahoe 2-door Model Possible?
Definitely, yes. There are a few things making it possible. First of all, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe two-door will be a throwback to the classic look and SUVs from the 90s. And the other clue is coming from the same period. That is the return of Ford Bronco. Although we still don’t know all details about the model from the Blue Oval family, fans and experts believe a classic layout could be optional for the new SUV. Well, it used to be a two-door vehicle. Now, with its return, the GM must have a response ready for the challenge. The 2021 Tahoe will have time for that since Bronco’s debut is set for next season.

2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Specs
The new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe will keep an old lineup of drivetrains. That is a pair of V8 engines. The base model is using a smaller GM’s displacement. A 5.3-liter unit is capable to produce 355 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. Two-wheel drive is standard, while the AWD comes optional. Chevrolet will use a new 10-speed automatic transmission. As said, the IRS will definitely be the major update for the upcoming SUV. It will bring better off-road capabilities and longer lifespan. On the other side, handling is not so smooth and the IRS is more expensive than the standard setup. Having that in mind, we expect a price jump.
The other engine in the offer will be a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. It is going to be available only with upper trim levels. Two-wheel drive is getting power from a nine- or ten-speed auto gearbox. The same transmission will send power to all wheels optionally. Although larger, the vehicle is not going to consume too much more fuel than the 5.3-liter engine, thanks to the dynamic fuel management system.

Release Date
The new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe will debut next year, probably at the new NAIAS. Next year, Detroit will host the world’s biggest premieres in summer. One of them could be the new Tahoe. Then, we will hear the first signs of the price, as well as the possibility of the SUV getting a diesel engine. Duramax unit is ready for Chevy Silverado pickup truck and Tahoe can take 280 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque.
