2021 Chevy Traverse Will Get A Major Update

The large crossover has been redesigned a couple of years ago and it looks like the company is already working on big updates. According to the latest reports, the 2021 Chevy Traverse is about to receive a massive update. It will include significant styling changes. This should make Traverse more competitive in the segment where some of the key players are models like Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot and Ford Explorer.

The testing model has already been spotted and at this point, we can see that various visual updates are coming. However, we count on updates in other aspects as well. For example, some reports are suggesting a new engine option, while we are also pretty sure that the 2021 Chevy Traverse will come with novelties in terms of tech features as well. On the other side, we still don’t know whether some interior changes are about to come or not.

2021 Chevy Traverse Styling Changes

Of course, a huge part of this update will be styling changes. The testing model has been around for some time and it wears camouflage on both ends of the vehicle. Naturally, more novelties will come at the front. We expect from the 2021 Chevy Traverse to closely resemble the new Blazer. In practice, this would mean a lot of changes. We would see new headlights, grille, bumper and many more things, all designed in the manner of Chevy’s latest design language.

The rear end will also come with notable changes and the thing we can obviously see are new taillights. They are completely uncovered, so you can notice a new texture and new LED lamps. Other typical facelift changes are expected as well, things like new color options, wheels etc.

Interior

This aspect of the crossover is still a mystery. On one side, the Traverse offers a tremendous amount of space. There are three spacious rows of seats and even the last row is spacious enough to accommodate adults. This large crossover accommodates 7 or 8 people, depending on whether you choose second-row captain’s chairs or not. Also, the cargo area is huge, comparable with full-size SUVs like the Ford Expedition and GMC Yukon. You can count on about 23 cubic feet behind the rear seats, while the overall cargo volume goes slightly under 100 cubic feet, which are spectacular numbers for the class.

Chevy Traverse Interior

On the other side, the thing we don’t like about the current model is that the overall interior quality isn’t on the level you would expect. GM models have never been famous for some spectacular interior designs. Still, the current model features some really odd aesthetical solutions, while materials’ quality isn’t at the same level as in most competitors.

Features

Once again, the current model shows two faces. On one side, the list of standard tech features is quite long. All models come standard with things like a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, six USB ports and Wi-Fi hotspot. In higher trim levels you can also get things like a rear-seat entertainment system, wireless device charging, an 8-inch touch screen, navigation, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, and satellite radio.

On the other side, things aren’t that great with safety features, as the base model comes only with a rearview camera. Still, you can get all the essentials in higher trims, including adaptive cruise control, a surround-view parking camera system, a rear camera mirror, forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, lane keep assist, rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert. We definitely expect to see many of these things standard in the upcoming model.

2021 Chevy Traverse Engines

Changes are possible under the hood as well. The current model comes with a familiar 3.6-liter V6, which is good for about 310 horsepower. It definitely gets the job done and driving dynamics are pretty decent. It comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, while the fuel economy is quite good. You may count on around 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. wOn the other side, an optional turbo-four has been discontinued recently.

We presume it could be replaced with a new version of a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, which has been introduced in the new XT4. Compared to the old one it features a little bit less power, but delivers much better fuel economy in return. So, this could be a great alternative for those who are searching for a large three-row SUV with decent mpg ratings.

2021 Chevy Traverse Release Date and Price

We expect to see 2021 Chevy Traverse sometime in the next year. When it comes to the price, the current model starts at around 30.000 dollars and we don’t expect to see more significant changes after this update.
