2021 Chrysler Aspen Rumors, Design, Release Date, Specs

Chrysler has been without a new model for a quite long time and it looks this is finally going to change. Allegedly, the company is preparing a whole range of new models for the next year, including the comeback of not so familiar nameplate. Yes, we are talking about the 2021 Chrysler Aspen. The new crossover will use a nameplate that was reserved for an SUV, which had a quite short production cycle, of just a couple of years.

The new model will come with a completely new design. This time, we are about to see a crossover, and that will be nothing less than a flagship model. At this point, we don’t know too many details about the new model. Moreover, different sources suggest different design solutions. In any case, the new model looks very likely from this perspective, so Chrysler is finally about to get a model is some competitive segment.

2021 Chrysler Aspen Platform and Design

There is no doubt that the 2021 Chrysler Aspen will be a modern crossover. On the other side, there are two directions in which the new model could. Of course, we are talking about the use of different platforms. According to most reports, the new crossover will feature full-size dimensions and feature the same platform as Pacifica. This means more than 121 inches in wheelbase, which promises plenty of space on the inside. On the other side, a big drawback of such a design approach is the fact that the US Wide platform isn’t among the newest design achievements in the automotive industry.

Therefore, there are some reports that suggest new 2021 Chrysler Aspen might feature the same base design as the upcoming next-generation Grand Cherokee. This would mean it will ride on the Giorgio platform, the same one that underprints Alfa Romeo Stelvio. With such design, the new Aspen would definitely feature much more athleticism, which would provide better driving characteristics and overall driving experience. On the other side, dimensions would probably be slightly smaller, though that doesn’t have to be.

Exterior Design

One of the most intriguing things about the 2021 Chrysler Aspen is its styling and the overall exterior design. Simply, this company hasn’t released a new model for a couple of years, so we aren’t perfectly clear about the brand’s new design language. The only model that currently looks modern in the brand’s lineup is Pacifica, but we are talking about a minivan, which isn’t something you can implement on other types of vehicles that easily. We might see a similar approach in terms of headlights and grille, but we think that the company would rather introduce a completely new design language, something that will be used as the basis for all future models. On the other side, the rest of the vehicle should feature quite typical SUV shapes, with a relatively boxy shape, but accentuated muscles and a lot of modern styling approach.

2021 Chrysler Aspen Interior

When it comes to interior design, the first thing that comes to mind is plenty of space. This will certainly be a very large crossover, no matter the platform. For example, could see the same 121.5-inch wheelbase as in Pacifica. In any case, we expect that all three rows will be spacious and adult-friendly. Also, the cargo area should be huge as well.

Of course, plenty of space won’t be the only quality of this cabin. We also count on hi-quality, a pretty luxurious interior. The first thing that comes to mind is the use of hi-quality materials but we also count on a stylish dashboard. Finally, count on lots of new tech features.

2021 Chrysler Aspen Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, the offer will largely depend on the platform choice. If the new 2021 Chrysler Aspen is about to ride on the US Wide platform, we may count on a 3.6-liter V6 with a max output of 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Also, we might see a plug-in hybrid version in the offer as well. The Pacifica uses an efficient V6-based system, which is good for about 260 horsepower and also features an all-electric range of 33 miles.

If the 2021 Chrysler Aspen is about to share design solutions with Grand Cherokee, we will probably see more powerful engine options in the offer as well. Of course, one of the first engines that come to mind is a well-known 5.7-liter V8 unit, with around 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. More details should be known in the next couple of months.

Release Date and Price

We are still waiting for the official confirmation but many reports suggest the 2021 Chrysler Aspen could come already by the end of this year. When it comes to the price, base models should somewhere between 30.000 and 35.000 dollars.
