2021 Mercedes Benz GLC 300, Coupe, Range, Price

After the facelift in 2020, we don’t expect any big changes on the 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC. Well, the compact crossover will keep the current styling for the next couple of seasons before it hits the big redesign or the new generation. Well, the refresh of the engine room will keep buyers occupied for a while. Currently, the GLC is offering five different setups in the USA, including a hybrid setup. Overseas, the carmaker will deliver three diesel configurations.

Changes for the 2020 season included the facelift of the entire fascia, front and rear. Designers were also occupied with the changes of the interior, to make this premium model even more luxurious. The 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC includes a 10-inch touchscreen at the center of a dashboard. More safety accessories are there now. The new PHEV setup required some upgrades, and Mercedes could refresh the offer with self-driving systems.

2021 Mercedes Benz GLC Engines and Specs

The base configuration is 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC 300. A 2.0-liter turbo engine is ready to deliver 255 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. Although a compact crossover, the GLC is not returning an impressive gas mileage. With a two-wheel drive, the vehicle returns 25 mpg. An all-wheel drive model is also known as GLC 300 4Matic. It comes with the same outputs, but power distribution to all corners is requiring more fuel and the gas mileage for this version is 24 mpg.

Hybrid Setup Range and Specifications

The new version of the crossover delivers an extended range compared to its predecessor. If you are looking for the hybrid model, that is the 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC 350e. A 2.0-liter engine is a base, which gets support from an electric battery. The combination is good for 315 horsepower, 415 lb-ft of torque. If you drive the GLC 350e by using only electric power, you can cover 30 miles. The 4Matic AWD has no alternative and the PHEV setup uses a nine-speed automatic transmission for power distribution.

Diesel Units

The 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC Diesel is not going to be available in the US. However, mostly European buyers are finding these powerplants more interesting and cheaper than gasoline counterparts. A 2.0-liter displacement has three different setups. With GLC 200d it makes 160 hp and 265 lb-ft, while the 220d adds 35 ponies and 30 pound-feet. The most potent version is 300d with 245 horsepower and 370 lb-ft of twist.

2021 Mercedes Benz GLC AMG 43 and AMG 63 Setups

The most capable versions of the compact crossover will carry the AMG badge. All three setups are using a V6 engine to boost the power outputs. The bi-turbo system is not going to drop the outputs under 385 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque. It is the standard AMG 43 offer that sprints to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. The 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC AMG 63 will stop the clock before it reaches 4 seconds. However, it deploys a V8 engine. Max speed is limited to 155 mph and the powerful setup produces 475 hp and 480 lb-ft. This is not all since the coupe crossover adds more power and torque (510 hp, 516 pound-feet).

Accessories and Equipment

The 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC will be one of the most luxurious premium crossovers in the market. Well, the company got us used to this and the MB is maintaining the same level for years, constantly improving the offer. Standard GLC 300 package is using the 10-inch screen as the command center for the infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are part of the base package, as well as some cool safety features. Automatic vipers with heating are definitely something you won’t find on other entry-level versions.

The AMG package boosts the offer with sporty upgrades. The unique exterior and interior offer plenty of options.
