2021 Nissan Kicks AWD, Canada, Changes, SV, Colors, Facelift

This affordable but practical crossover is one of Nissan’s best-selling models and we presume the numbers will be even better with the upcoming update. The story of this small SUV is pretty interesting. It was originally designed for the South American market. Soon after, the management realized its quality, so the model was eventually offered in many other parts of the world, including the demanding North American market. After a couple of years of production, the 2021 Nissan Kicks is coming with big updates.

The upcoming update will bring several interesting novelties. Of course, the company puts a focus on aesthetics. So, the new model comes with notable exterior changes, on both ends of the car. Changes on the inside are coming as well, particularly in terms of new technologies. On the other side, the powertrain department remains the same. The 2021 Nissan Kicks should hit the market in a couple of months.

2021 Nissan Kicks Facelift

This update is pretty much a typical update, as most of the changes are in terms of aesthetics. Of course, this particularly refers to the front end, which adopts several new parts. Although we are still waiting for the North American launch, the new version is already available in some parts of the world. Compared to the previous model, differences are obvious at the front. There is a new, bigger V-motion grille, while new LED headlights are narrower than before. Of course, there is also a new, sportier front bumper.

A couple of changes can be found at the rear end as well. This particularly refers to the new rear bumper, which looks sportier and also comes painted in body color. Speaking of body colors, the 2021 Nissan Kicks will come with Black Star, Storm White, Radiant Red, Gun Metallic, Brilliant Silver and Monarch Orange finishes in the offer. Of course, you may also count on two-tone color schemes in the offer.

Interior

Obviously, changes on the inside won’t be that numerous, but there are some nice things to mention. One of the first things that come to our mind is a new 8-inch infotainment screen, as well as a 7-inch instrument cluster screen. Furthermore, there is also a new steering wheel, which looks sportier than before. The new model comes standard with Apple CarPlay, while the VL model comes with a two-tone interior scheme, which combines black and orange. Other than that, the cabin layout remains largely the same. This means you may count on a relatively spacious cabin, which offers a decent amount of passenger room for the class and pretty respectable cargo volume. The overall interior quality seems decent enough, though there are some rivals that look more opulent.

2021 Nissan Kicks Engines

As we already mentioned, changes under the hood won’t happen, at least not in North America. That means you may count on a familiar 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that puts out around 122 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque. You definitely can’t count on some spectacular acceleration and driving experience but on the other side, the fact that we are talking about a naturally-aspirated unit means that you may count on a high predicted reliability rating, as well as on a decent fuel economy. You may count on about 31 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

In other parts of the world, particularly in Europe, the 2021 Nissan Kicks also comes in a new e-Power hybrid version, which is based on a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine and puts out 127 horsepower.
