2021 Range Rover Sport Spy Shots, Release date, Price, Interior, Changes

Spy photos are unveiling that 2021 Range Rover Sport redesign might appear before we expected. The British carmaker is updating its second-largest luxury SUV behind this badge. The shape will be pretty similar as before, so we suppose there are many new details under the covers that camouflage the vehicle. Until we see what is there, we can’t say if the 2021 YM is launching the new generation. Many experts believe it will happen.

The 2021 Range Rover Sport will keep similar dimensions. The SUV is 191 inches long, which is only six inches shorter than its bigger sibling. Two models are going to share a lot of things in common, including a wide range of drivetrains. The top of the line model is the SVR with monstrous outputs. Still, there are plenty of other options and buyers will be able to choose the setup they need. Also, the PHEV version is making it all interesting. Well, the mid-size luxury SUV will see a lot of competition and probably the main rival is going to be the Porsche Cayenne.

Specifications: 2021 Range Rover Sport P360 and P400

Six different configurations are available for the 2021 Range Rover Sport. Buyers can find the mid-size SUV with four-cylinder, inline-six, and V8 engines, petrol, diesel, and hybrid setups. So many options will definitely draw the attention of buyers, even these most demanding.

The base setup includes a 3.0-liter inline-6 unit capable to produce 355 horsepower. The P360 version is going to add 365 lb-ft of torque as well. All-wheel drive and eight-speed transmission are standard for the entire lineup. the same engine is able to burst 395 hp with the P400 model.

Diesel and Hybrid Units (D260 and P400e)

The 2021 Range Rover Sport is also available in a diesel variant. A 3.0-liter mill comes with 260 hp and 450 lb-ft thanks to turbochargers. It is the weakest power output, while higher-trims are producing more torque. Still, the D260 version is going to be one of the most efficient with 25 mpg combined.

We don’t have precise numbers for the plug-in hybrid model. Well, the PHEV is going to run 30 miles by using only an electric motor. The towing capacity of this version is 5,500 pounds and the configuration is going to return 400 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque. A 2.0-liter turbocharged unit is the main source of power, which gets support from a 105 kW battery.

V8 Configurations (2021 Range Rover Sport SVR and Autobiography)

A supercharged V8 engine is dominating the class with power and torque outputs. The engine is available in P525 and Autobiography packages and it returns 520 hp. The fuel economy is 19 mpg combined, with the highway rating at 22 mpg.

The only model that can beat this is the 2021 Range Rover Sport SVR. In this setup, buyers are getting 575 horsepower and 515 lb-ft of torque, which are among the best outputs in the market. The fuel economy remains at a respectable level, consuming 15/20 mpg in the city/highway.

2021 Range Rover Sport SVR Equipment

Besides the different engines, all versions will get a unique bundle of features. The 2021 Range Rover Sport is the luxury mid-size SUV with three rows of seats. It can offer seven spots, but five is a default layout. The cargo capacity is 27.5 cubic feet. When all seats are folded, the volume jumps to 60 cu.ft. The battery of the plug-in hybrid version lays under seats and it cuts some overall space inside the vehicle.

There are five trim levels available for the mid-size SUV. The SE is an entry-level model with already stunning features. For example, buyers will get a self-leveling air suspension. Besides the long list of accessories, the SE version is exclusively offering Park and Drive packages.

Well, these are part of the standard offer for the HSE model. Plus, this bundle is also adding the off-road package, panoramic sunroof, and more quality leather upholstery. The HST package is there for the hybrid edition.

Autobiography would be the most advanced package if there is no SVR model. Parking camera with surround view and genuine leather are things making this version so special. But, higher outputs, a sport-tuned suspension, and unique parts for interior and exterior are making the 2021 Range Rover Sport SVR king of the lineup.

2021 Range Rover Sport Release Date and Price

The new 2021 Range Rover Sport will be out soon with many cosmetic updates. However, we probably won’t see any change under the bonnet. Still, the redesign is going to be worth of waiting, and it will boost the price of the mid-size SUV. Offers will start around $70,000, which is pretty high even for this class. The high-end SVR version is not going to be cheaper than $120k and that is on par with Mercedes AMG GLE and BMW X6 M.
