2022 Cadillac Escalade Might Get High-Performance Version

After the recent complete redesign, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade will represent the second production year of the generation. Therefore, it’s hard to expect significant changes. Most likely, things will remain the same, though we can hear rumors about the high-performance version, which would come with the famous “V” badge. However, that’s still a rumor, and shouldn’t be taken for granted. On the other hand, there is always a chance to see smaller updates like new color options, new standard features etc.

All in all, standard models will continue in the same way. The recent redesign has brought a lot of novelties and the new generation has a lot of great things to offer. We like its huge cabin, along with the pretty impressive interior quality and a long list of tech goodies. Also, the handling is well balanced and offers a good combination of comfort and agility.

Most likely, we will see the 2022 Cadillac Escalade sometime late in the year.

2022 Cadillac Escalade Redesign

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade will represent the second production year of the generation. So, it’s hard to expect any particular change. The overall design will certainly remain the same, which means that you may count on a design that’s based on the new T1 platform, on a genuine body-on-frame layout. Compared to the previous generation, the new model is slightly bigger and, more importantly, it looks way better. That’s no wonder, considering that it follows the brand’s latest design language, based on the Escala concept from a few years ago.

The recent redesign has also brought a completely new cabin design, which looks really impressive. The dashboard is stylish, while the amount of tech goodies makes everything look even more impressive. Furthermore, the cabin is very spacious and offers three adult-friendly rows of seats, while the cargo area is the biggest in the class.

Features

We don’t believe that too many things could change for the second production year. Yes, we could see a few additions to the list of standard equipment, but most of the things should remain the same. Therefore, standard models will probably come with the same list of features, which includes a 16.9-inch touch screen, a 7.2-inch digital control panel, a 14.2-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, a 19-speaker AKG Studio stereo, wireless device charging, Bluetooth, two USB ports, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio, and HD Radio. Things like a household-style power outlet, proximity keyless entry, remote start, tri-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a universal garage door opener are also on the list of standard equipment.

Additionally, you can get goodies like a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference surround-sound stereo and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens, as well as a panoramic sunroof, cabin air ionization, and a center console refrigerator.

Safety

Once again, we don’t expect bigger changes. So, all 2022 Cadillac Escalade models should come standard with safety features like forward collision warning, front and rear pedestrian detection, forward automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera system, automatic high-beam headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a safety alert seat, a rear-seat reminder.

The current list of options includes automatic parking assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, a rearview mirror camera, reverse automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic seat belt tightening, and night vision detection. Cadillac’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system is also available.

2022 Cadillac Escalade Engines

As we already mentioned, the most anticipated novelty for the next year is the high-performance version of this SUV, which would come as the 2022 Cadillac Escalade V. Of course, this version would come with all kinds of upgrades but the first thing that comes to mind is the engine. Allegedly, this version will be powered with a supercharged 6.2-liter engine, the same one that can be found in the Cadillac CT5-V, with a monstrous max output of 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque.

On the other hand, standard models would continue in the same way, with two familiar engine options in the offer. The first one is a 6.2-liter V8, which puts out around 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. There is also a recently introduced diesel version, equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, with a max output of 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

2022 Cadillac Escalade Release Date and Price

Whether the new high-performance version arrives or not, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade will probably hit the market sometime late in the year. The starting price should also remain pretty much the same, which would mean somewhere around 77.000 dollars. Of course, key competitors are Lincoln Navigator, Lexus LX etc.
