2022 Cadillac XT4 Colors, Price, Premium Luxury, Interior

Although it was expected to see a mid-cycle refresh, the 2022 Cadillac XT4 will come with no bigger changes. Just like a few more models from GM’s lineup, this one will also have to wait for a little bit more. The update has been delayed for 2023 model years, which clearly indicates that there will be no notable changes for the next year. Of course, it’s always possible to see minor tweaks like new features and color options, but the overall layout will certainly remain the same.

This means that you may count on familiar design characteristics as on the current model year. This crossover has a couple of pretty good things to offer, starting from nice aesthetics, a spacious cabin and a pretty long list of standard features. However, there are also few things we could complain about. For example, the ride quality isn’t as good as you would probably expect, while the cargo area is pretty small.

No bigger changes also mean that the 2022 Cadillac XT4 will most likely hit the market in a typical time of year, sometime in the last quarter of 2021.

2022 Cadillac XT4 Redesign

The 2022 Cadillac XT4 is about to carry on with a familiar design, which is based on a well-known E2 platform. With 109.4 inches in wheelbase, it is one of the biggest subcompact crossovers on the market. However, the ride quality isn’t that good. We don’t like the handling, which isn’t very precise and doesn’t offer a remarkable driving experience at all. At this same time, the level of comfort isn’t particularly great either.

When it comes to styling, the current generation has been around for about three years and there’s no doubt it could remain fresh for some more time. Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see new color options for the next year.

Interior

The interior of this crossover is a mixed bag. On one side, we do like the XT4’s spacious cabin. Both rows are spacious to accommodate adults with ease. Also, the front seats are massive and supportive, while the driving position is good. On the other hand, the cargo area isn’t that impressive. You may count on about 22.5 cubic feet behind the second row and 49 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. That’s below-average for the segment.

The dashboard looks nice but if you look closer, you can notice that materials and the build quality aren’t all that great. Compared to rivals like Audi Q3 or BMW X1, the American luxury crossover lags behind. Another complaint goes to the cabin insulation. Simply, the ride can be pretty loud at higher speeds, which isn’t something you would expect from a premium car.

Features

Considering that the facelift has been delayed, we don’t expect to see too many novelties in terms of standard equipment. Moreover, most of the things should remain the same. So, base models should come with things like dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touch screen, a seven-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Additionally, you can get goodies like a rear-seat entertainment system, wireless device charging, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, navigation, sunroof etc.

When it comes to safety features, we don’t expect bigger changes either. The current model comes with a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, and front pedestrian braking, so we may expect something similar from the 2022 XT4 as well. The list of options should include goodies like a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, a rear camera mirror, rear cross traffic alert, rear pedestrian detection, reverse automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors etc.

2022 Cadillac XT4 Engine

Things under the hood definitely won’t change. The 2022 Cadillac XT4 will carry on with a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. That’s more than enough for decent acceleration and overall dynamics. Also, a 9-speed automatic transmission does a pretty fine job too. Still, the problem is noise, as we already mentioned already. The engine can be pretty loud at higher speeds, mostly because of bad sound insulation.

When it comes to fuel economy, things are quite typical for the segment. You may count on about 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, while models with all-wheel drive are slightly thirstier.

2022 Cadillac XT4 Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2022 Cadillac XT4 sometime late in the year, with a starting price of around 38.000 dollars. The competition is tough and includes models like Audi Q3, BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA etc.
