The current generation of the legendary SUV has been around since 2013 but the company isn’t rushing with changes. Therefore, we won’t see a full redesign so soon, as Jeep engineers are currently busy with the new versions of Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer. That clearly indicates that the 2022 Jeep Cherokee is about to carry on without more important changes. We are about to see a familiar design, which hasn’t changed significantly in the last eight years but still has a lot of good things to offer to potential buyers.

Interior
The inside of this SUV hasn’t changed too much since the initial launch. Therefore, it’s no wonder that the dashboard looks a little bit outdated compared to the younger rivals. Also, the Cherokee doesn’t feature the nicest materials in the class, while the build quality could be better too. Some areas look nice, but there are also areas that feature hard plastics and other low-rent materials.
When it comes to interior practicality, both rows offer decent amounts of space and accommodate adult passengers. The front seats are massive and supportive, while the driving position is good, whether it’s about ergonomics or outward visibility.
When it comes to cargo volume, you may count on up to 27.6 cubic feet behind the second row, while the total volume goes up to nearly 55 cubic feet. That’s not terrible, but most rivals are more generous with cargo space.
Features
One of the most common things about yearly updates is the addition of new standard features. So, the 2022 Jeep Cherokee could also come with some of them. Still, we are pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same. We presume that the list of standard equipment will be pretty similar to the current model, which comes standard with goodies like a 7-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, Bluetooth, a USB port, and a six-speaker stereo.

The same thing is with safety features. Currently, all models come standard with goodies like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a rearview camera.
2022 Jeep Cherokee Engines
Under the hood, the 2022 Jeep Cherokee will continue with three familiar engine options in the offer. Base models will continue with a good-old 2.4-liter inline-four, which puts out around 180 horsepower. This engine is reliable but isn’t too inspiring. So, most buyers will rather choose one of the two optional units. The first one is a 3.3-liter V6, which puts out around 271 horsepower and offers way better driving dynamics.
However, the new 2.0-liter turbo-four is by far the best choice. It is both the most capable and the most efficient engine in the lineup. Despite it offers the same amount of power as the V6, it offers significantly more torque (295lb-ft), so driving dynamics are way better.
All three engines come in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
