The new generation of Toyota’s capable SUV is on the way. Those are the latest reports that are coming from our unofficial but reliable sources. It looks like the current generation, which has been around for more than a decade, will finally be replaced with the all-new 2022 Toyota 4Runner, which is about to bring all kinds of novelties and significant improvements. We are still waiting to hear something from the officials, but our reliable sources suggest this is a certain thing.
These days, when crossovers dominate the market, the 4Runner is one of the rare body-on-frame SUVs. Interestingly, that is the main reason for its growing popularity. Therefore, we will probably see something smaller and more efficient. Some sources also suggest a turbocharged V6 unit, though we are pretty sure that the 2022 Toyota 4Runner will come with some kind of electrified powertrain.
