Cadillac’s compact crossover has been around for a while and most of us expect to see a completely new generation. According to the latest reports, the generation will debut in the next year, as the 2024 XT5. So, it’s pretty easy to conclude that the 2023 Cadillac XT5 will represent the final production year of the current generation. Therefore, it’s hard to believe that any bigger changes could happen. We count on a familiar design, while the only changes we could see are some minor tweaks in terms of standard and available equipment.
You may count on a crossover that still has a couple of good things to offer. We like its efficient turbo-four engine, while the ride is quite comfortable. Also, we like the spacious cabin, which offers plenty of room for the passengers and cargo. On the other hand, the biggest complaints go to the subpar interior quality, lack of athleticism and similar things.

2023 Cadillac XT5 Design
As we already mentioned, the 2023 Cadillac XT5 will represent the final production year of the generation. Therefore, we don’t expect to see any changes. We count on a familiar design, which is based on a familiar C1 platform, which underpins a variety of GM models. The common thing for all of them is the lack of athleticism and the XT5 is no exception. On the other hand, we could say that the ride is relatively smooth and comfortable.

Interior
On the inside, the XT5 has both positive and negative sides. What’s negative is the interior quality. Of course, it’s not bad, but it’s still below segment standards in terms of materials, attention to detail and similar things. Also, the aesthetics of the dashboard aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.
On the other hand, there are no complaints regarding interior space and overall functionality. With more than 112 inches in wheelbase, this two-row crossover offers plenty of passenger room. The front seats are spacious, comfortable and quite supportive, while the driving position is pretty good as well. The second row is also very spacious and accommodates adults with ease.
When it comes to the cargo area, you may count on about 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind its back seats and 63 cubic feet of the total cargo volume, which is pretty good for the segment.

Since we are talking about the final production year, we presume that the company won’t make any bigger changes in this aspect. Base models should come standard with goodies like dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, satellite radio, Bluetooth, four USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The list of optional features should include a sunroof, tri-zone climate control, wireless device charging, navigation, a 14-speaker Bose audio system, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
The same thing is expected with safety features. So, all models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, safety alert seat, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, parking sensors, lane keep assist, lane departure warning etc. Also, count on upgrades like head-up display, night vision assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane change alert, rear cross-traffic alert, rear pedestrian alert, reverse automatic emergency braking, surround-view camera, park assist and more.
2023 Cadillac XT5 Engine
The 2023 Cadillac XT5 will continue with two familiar engines on the offer. Base models will continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, which is enough for pretty decent driving dynamics. Besides solid performance, this engine also features pretty good fuel economy, which goes around 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
