The current generation of Ford’s compact crossover still marks solid sales numbers but the competition is getting tougher every year. 2023 Ford Escape Engines
Things under the hood won’t change for the next year. So, the offer will start with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine, which puts out around 180 horsepower. For those who are looking for something peppier, there is a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 250 horsepower. Both engines come in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission.
The other two powertrain options are hybrids, both based on a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The first one, a classic hybrid, is good for about 200 horsepower and offers a pretty impressive fuel economy of around 44 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. The plug-in hybrid version is good for 221 horsepower and also offers 37 miles of the all-electric range.
