2023 Ford Everest Gets Full Redesign

The new generation of Ford’s body-on-frame SUV is on the way. Just like the Ranger, the Everest will receive a full redesign. The new generation is almost ready and we expect to see it by the end of this year. Once again, this model will be designed primarily for the Australian market and selected Asian countries. It will carry on as a genuine SUV, which offers strong off-road capabilities, great towing capacity and other utility benefits. The new model will debut as the 2023 Ford Everest.

From what we know so far, the next generation will also be designed by the Australian department and most of the changes will be evolutionary. Of course, the new model will bring a new styling but the mechanical aspect won’t change all that much. The new model will continue to ride on the same T6 platform, though with notable updates and upgrades. On the other hand, big novelties are coming under the hood, and we are about to see new engine options on offer.

The 2023 Ford Everest is expected to hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Ford Everest Design

The 2023 Ford Everest will come completely redesigned. Therefore, we are about to see a lot of novelties. First of all, there is the matter of platform. From what we know so far, the new generation will continue to ride on the same T6 platform that underpins the outgoing model. However, it will receive some updates, starting from the new suspension setup, which should provide better on-road ride quality. Still, that won’t compromise the off-road performance, which will remain on a super-high level, thanks to the high ground clearance and all kinds of off-road features.

Naturally, this redesign will also bring a new styling. The front end will closely resemble the new Ranger, with a pretty bold and aggressive aesthetical approach. The rest of the vehicle will also bring bolder and more muscular lines, though the overall shape won’t be much different compared to the previous generation.

Interior

Naturally, a new generation will also bring a new interior design. Once again, most parts will be shared with the new Ranger and this particularly refers to the dashboard design, which will feature the same shape and same materials. The overall quality seems to be on a higher level compared to the previous generation. Also, there are new tech features, including the available vertically-oriented infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster and many more.

Of course, the new model will continue as a 7-seater. You may count on three rows of seats and if we consider that the new generation will gain two inches in wheelbase, we may expect more legroom as well. This particularly refers to the third row of seats, which hasn’t been particularly generous so far. On the other hand, the first and the second row of seats were already pretty spacious and comfortable, so we don’t expect bigger changes. The cargo area should also offer a little bit more room compared to the previous generation.

2023 Ford Everest Engines

Big novelties are coming under the hood. The old 3.2-liter turbodiesel will be dropped from the offer but we will see a new V6 turbodiesel instead, the same one that powered the F-150 in North America.

Base models will feature a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four diesel engine, which features a max output of 154kw (210hp) and 500Nm (370 lb-ft) of torque. On the other hand higher trim levels will come with a new 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, which puts out around 184 kW (250hp) and 600Nm of torque. Both engines will come coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

We also expect to see gasoline versions in some parts of the world. We could see a 2.3-liter turbo-four with 300 horsepower, while a 2.7-liter V6 also seems possible, with a max output of 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Finally, some sources speculate about the 2023 Ford Everest Raptor, which could even come with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with a max output of 400 horsepower.
