2023 Hyundai Tucson Is Getting High-Performance Version!?

After the last year’s redesign, it makes perfect sense to expect to see the 2023 Hyundai Tucson without more important updates. Simply, the recent redesign has brought a lot of new things and the initial reception was impressive. However, the Korean manufacturer still prepares a couple of novelties for the next year. Allegedly, we are about to see a high-performance version of the SUV, which would come with a capable turbo-four engine and a few more upgrades. However, this model is yet to be confirmed.

On the other hand, the rest of the lineup will definitely continue in the same way. This SUV has so many great things to offer, starting from the premium interior quality, plenty of passenger and cargo space, and a wide powertrain offer that includes two hybrid versions. Furthermore, we like how it drivers, as it offers a fantastic balance between comfort and athleticism.

The 2023 Hyundai Tucson should arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Hyundai Tucson Design

Design-wise, the 2023 Hyundai Tucson shouldn’t feature any bigger change. The new generation has just arrived and it hasn’t just brought a completely new styling, which looks great. It has also brought a completely new chassis, with a new suspension setup, which provides an impressive driving experience. The Tuscon is maneuverable and easy to drive, while the level of comfort is pretty impressive at the same time.

When it comes to the potential performance version, which would come with the “N” badge, we would expect to see all kinds of upgrades. Of course, the engine is the first thing that comes to mind, but we would also expect to see a little bit stiffer suspension setup, bigger brakes and a number of unique styling details, which would accentuate the model’s performance character.

Interior

Interior changes aren’t expected either and honestly, why would anyone want changes when the new cabin looks amazing? This is arguably one of the best cabins in the segment, characterized by impressive quality, super-fine materials and attractive aesthetics. Furthermore, the sound insulation is excellent, while the long list of tech features makes this cabin look even better.

This cabin isn’t just luxurious. It is also pretty impressive in terms of space and overall functionality. Both rows of seats are very generous with space and accommodate adults with ease. Furthermore, the front seats are well-shaped and offer a high level of comfort and great side supports.

The cargo area is also pretty impressive. You may count on about 38.8 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 74.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down, which puts the Tucson in line with class leaders like Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.

Features

Novelties in this aspect are always possible but we are pretty sure that most of the things will remain the same as in the current model. Therefore, all models should come standard with goodies like dual-zone climate control, push-button start, an 8-inch touch screen, satellite radio, HD Radio, four USB ports, Bluetooth, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The list of optional tech features should include a 10.25-inch touch screen (with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), navigation, a Bose audio system, and wireless device charging, as well as a panoramic sunroof.

When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with goodies like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, rearview camera, rear cross-traffic alert, driver drowsiness monitoring etc. Also, count on optional safety features like front and rear parking sensors, surround-view camera, remote smart park assist etc.

2023 Hyundai Tucson Engines

As we already mentioned, there is a big chance to see a high-performance version of this SUV, which would come as the 2023 Hyundai Tucson N. This model would come with the company’s new 2.5-liter turbo-four, which puts out 281 horsepower.

On the other hand, the rest of the lineup would continue in the same way. Therefore, base models would come with a 2.5-liter inline-four, which puts out around 191 horsepower. There are also two hybrid versions on the offer. The first one is a classic hybrid, equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo-four and electric motor, for a total output of 226 horsepower.

The plug-in hybrid version uses the same turbo-four engine but comes with a more capable electric motor. So, the total output goes around 261 horsepower. Furthermore, you may also count on about 30 miles of the all-electric range.
