The current generation of Jeep’s entry-level crossover has been around since 2015. However, it looks like the company won’t go for a full redesign in the next few years. Instead, it looks like the 2023 Jeep Renegade is about to receive another facelift. So far, the current generation was updated once, in 2019. This would be the second facelift. At this point, we are still waiting for the official confirmation, even though such a version was already presented in Brazil.
This update would bring several interesting novelties, starting from the updated styling and interior design. On the other hand, most of the design and features will remain the same. Therefore, you may count on a crossover that offers great off-road performance, decent interior space, a long list of standard equipment, an intuitive infotainment system etc.

2023 Jeep Renegade Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Jeep Renegade will probably receive a facelift. Among updates, we expect that those in terms of the styling will be the most important ones. Allegedly, the next year’s model will come with new headlights internals, a revised grille, reshaped bumpers etc. Of course, we also count on typical mid-cycle updates, such as new color options, new wheels etc.
On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle is expected to remain the same. This refers to all models, so you may count on the same ride quality. This small crossover offers a smooth and quite comfortable ride. The off-road-oriented Trailhawk trim should also carry on in the same way. This version comes with some pretty notable upgrades, such as low-range gearing, hill descent control, a couple of skid plates, off-road tires, and front and rear recovery tow hooks.
Interior
We will also see a couple of interior updates. Some slight revisions to the dashboard are possible, particularly in terms of new color schemes and new materials. However, bigger changes should come in the form of the new steering wheel and center armrest, which follows the same design approach as in the recently-updated Compass.
On the other hand, the overall layout will remain the same. This small crossover features a quite decent cabin quality, with nice materials and lots of tech features. Also, the cabin is very spacious, when compared to other competitors in the class. The front seats are well-shaped and provide good support and nice comfort. The second row also accommodated adults pretty easily.
The cargo area offers around 18.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, while the total cargo space goes around 50 cubic feet, which is about average for the class.
Features
We have no doubt that this update will bring some novelties in terms of standard and available features. However, if we consider that the current model already stands pretty well in this aspect, it’s easy to conclude that these updates won’t be numerous.
For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like dual-zone climate control, 8.4-inch touch screen, navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a USB port, satellite radio, voice recognition, and a six-speaker stereo system. Among upgrades, you can find a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, ambient interior lighting, proximity keyless entry, remote start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a household-style power outlet, a dual-pane panoramic roof, 9-speaker audio system etc.
The same is with safety features. The current model already comes standard with goodies like blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, rearview camera etc.
2023 Jeep Renegade Engines
The 2023 Jeep Renegade will continue with the same engine under the hood. We are talking about a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine, which may be small in displacement but which is actually pretty capable. It features a max output of 177 horsepower, while the max torque goes around 210 pound-feet. Thanks to the massive torque, driving dynamics are actually quite good.
The engine comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which is smooth but which can struggle to find the right gear sometimes. Front-wheel drive is standard, while AWD is available. When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, which is below average for a subcompact SUV.
