2023 Lexus LX 600: Price, Release Date, Hybrid, F Sport

Last year, we saw a full redesign of Lexus’s full-size SUV. After so many years, we saw a completely new model, which has brought significant improvements in various aspects. Therefore, we would normally expect no bigger changes for the 2023 Lexus LX 600, which will represent the second production year of the generation. However, the Japanese manufacturer thinks differently and prepares a set of interesting novelties.

From what we know so far, the company prepares an off-road version of the SUV, with significant upgrades. Furthermore, many believe that the company could offer a hybrid powertrain. Other than that, things probably won’t change. So, we are about to see an SUV that offers excellent build quality, elegant interior, lots of standard equipment and great off-road potential. On the other hand, the main drawbacks will remain, and that particularly refers to the lack of passenger and cargo space.

Despite the potential updates, we don’t expect to see the 2023 Lexus LX 600 much earlier than usual. It should hit the market in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Lexus LX 600 Design

The recent redesign has brought a lot of impressive changes. The new model rides on the new TNGA-F platform, which improves the ride quality significantly. Furthermore, the vehicle is significantly lighter and comes with lots of new technologies. Of course, there is also a new styling, which brings most changes to the front, while the overall shape looks petty similar to the previous generation. Even the wheelbase and other dimensions are pretty close to the previous model.

Base models come with low-speed crawl control and multiterrain selectable drive modes, which is enough for no more than decent off-road performance. For the next year, the company prepares a new, off-road trim, which will bring much more in this aspect. According to some sources, this model will come with upgraded suspension, three locking differential and many other pieces of off-road hardware.

Interior

On the other hand, we don’t expect to see bigger interior changes. The cabin is all new and it looks great. We like the new dashboard design very much, as it looks very elegant and refined. There aren’t too many flashy details, but the build quality is impressive, while the materials are really fine. Finally, there’s a good portion of tech features, which makes everything look even more upscale.

2023 Lexus LX 600 Interior

In order to retain excellent off-road potential, the new generation didn’t change much in terms of size. Therefore, the wheelbase has remained relatively short, which further manifests in the less interior room compared to rivals. Base models come standard with two rows, while the optional third row is very tight and not very useful. The cargo area is also very small for the class. It offers around just 11 cubic feet behind the third row. You may count on up to 46 cubic feet behind the second row and 71 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.

Features

When it comes to standard and available equipment, we don’t expect bigger changes for the next year. The 2023 Lexus LX 600 should carry on pretty much in the same way. So, base models should come standard with goodies like an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch and 7-inch touch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 10-speaker premium stereo, Bluetooth, four USB ports, satellite radio, wireless device charging, navigation, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a universal garage door opener, and a moonroof.

Among optional features, expect to find things like ambient interior lighting, a center console refrigerator, two additional USB ports, a 25-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound stereo, rear wireless device charging, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 11.4-inch displays.

2023 Lexus LX 600 Engine

We expect that the 2023 Lexus LX 600 will continue with the same 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6, which puts out 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and the whole system feels pretty capable and pretty refined. The max towing capacity is 8.000 pounds, while the average fuel economy goes around 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the class.

Some sources also speculate about the hybrid version. Of course, we would see the same setup as in the new Tundra and Sequoia models. That system puts our 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. We presume that the numbers could be increased a little bit in this case.
