2023 Lexus RX 350 Redesign: What We Know So Far

The best-selling luxury SUV is about to get redesigned next year if we can trust the latest reports. The current generation has been around since 2015 and if we consider the model’s typical production cycle, it makes sense to expect the 2023 Lexus RX 350 completely new. At this point, the exact details are still unknown, but we are pretty sure we know what to expect from the next generation of the popular SUV.

Considering the sales numbers, we are pretty sure that the Japanese company won’t experiment too much with the next generation. The overall layout won’t change significantly, though we count on improvements in every aspect, starting from a completely new platform. The new model will ride better and it will offer more space on the inside. Furthermore, we count on improvements regarding the powertrain, especially the hybrid option.

The next-generation 2023 Lexus RX 350 is expected to arrive sometime in the next year.

This redesign will certainly bring a lot of novelties. However, we don’t expect to see radical changes. Simply, the current model is very popular and way too important for the brand and any change in direction would be too risky. So, the overall layout will remain largely the same, but based on a new platform.

The current model rides on a good-old K platform and we have no doubt that the new 2023 Lexus RX 350 will adopt the company’s latest TNGA architecture. The new platform will bring a much lower center of gravity, which ensures better overall performance, especially in terms of handling. Still, we have no doubt that the new RX will remain trimmed in the way to ensures a super-high level of comfort, as that has always been its main characteristic.

Exterior

The current generation has been around since 2015 but somehow, it still looks pretty fresh in terms of styling. That’s why we don’t believe that the new 2023 Lexus RX 350 could bring any radical styling change. The company will continue to evolve its design language, famous for the spindle grille layout and the new iteration will probably look even sharper.

On the other hand, we presume that the new generation could become slightly bigger. This particularly refers to the optional three-row version, which will probably feature a notably longer wheelbase. The standard two-row model will probably keep similar proportions to the current model.

Interior

The current cabin features excellent build quality and looks conservative. That’s why we count on a completely new dashboard layout, which would bring a fancier dash look, along with even nicer materials. Of course, the build quality should be great as always.

As we’ve just mentioned, the standard two-row model probably won’t change too much in terms of size, so we count on a similar amount of passenger space, which is more than decent for this segment. On the other hand, the three-row model should come with a much longer wheelbase, which would ensure much more space in the third row, which is currently really tight. The cargo area should bring higher numbers as well.

Another big thing we expect to see is a completely new infotainment system. Many find Lexus’s current system too complicated to use and we hope that the new model will switch to a classic touchscreen layout.

2023 Lexus RX 350 Engine

We expect that the Japanese manufacturer will continue to offer a standard gasoline powertrain option. That will most likely be the same 3.5-liter V6 engine that powers the current model. The current version of the engine puts out around 295 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, but we won’t exclude the possibility to see some slight increase for the new model.

A hybrid version will come as well. This model is known as the RX 450h and it currently uses a V6-based system with over 320 horsepower. We presume that the new generation could come with an improved or completely new system.

The 2023 Lexus RX 350 will debut sometime in the next year, but a more precise date is yet to be announced. We expect that the starting price will go around 45.000 dollars. Models like Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5 are some of the key competitors.
