Lincoln’s mid-size crossover stands out from the crowd in many ways but it’s also a pretty old vehicle, which has its roots in the second-generation MKX. That’s why we are getting reports about the discontinuation. It looks like the 2023 Lincoln Nautilus will be the final production year. After that, it will be replaced with a new model, which will probably be all-electric. So, it’s quite easy to presume that the 2023 Nautilus won’t feature bigger changes. Final model years usually don’t bring any important updates.
So, you may count on a crossover that still has a lot of great things to offer. We particularly like its interior design, which has been updated a few years ago. 2023 Lincoln Nautilus Design
As we already mentioned, the origins of Nautilus’s design are in the old MKX. More precisely, most of the design approach is shared with Ford Edge, starting from the platform and overall layout. Still, the Nautilus offers a way more refined suspension and chassis setup, which ensures a more comfortable ride and better overall experience. However, things still aren’t great in terms of athleticism and that’s probably the weakest point of this crossover.
Visually, things are largely the same as in the 2019 model year, which was Nautilus’s first year. The styling follows the brand’s latest design language, characterized by elegant and classic lines, with just a couple of modern touches. Of course, the 2023 Lincoln Nautilus will continue in the same way.
Interior
The interior received a massive update for the 2021 model year and since then, we are talking about one of the nicest cabins in the class. This particularly refers to the dashboard design, which combines classic, even retro design elements, with modern tech features. Such a combination looks amazing, while the build quality is also at a pretty high level.
This is a two-row mid-size crossover and can say that both rows have plenty of space to accommodate adults with ease. The front seats are massive and comfortable, though we would like to see a little bit more support. The second row is as spacious, while the cargo area is pretty generous as well. You may count on about 37.2 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 68.8 cubic feet behind the first row of seats. Those are pretty good ratings for the segment.
Features
As we are talking about the final production year, it’s quite obvious that bigger changes won’t happen in this aspect either. Therefore, the list of standard equipment should include things like dual-zone climate control, remote start, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13.2-inch touch screen, a 10-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Among upgrades, we should find a panoramic sunroof, navigation, wireless device charging, a 13- or 19-speaker Revel stereo, HD Radio, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
The same thing is with safety features. So, all models should come standard with a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist etc. Count on a couple of options as well, on things like front parking sensors, park assist, surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control etc.
2023 Lincoln Nautilus Engines
We expect that the 2023 Lincoln Nautilus will continue with two familiar engine options on the offer. Base models will use a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 250 horsepower. It comes in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which ensures quite decent performance. Also, fuel economy is pretty decent for the class and goes around 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
For those who look for something peppier, there is a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6, which puts out around 335 horsepower and offers notably better performance. However, it’s also a little bit thirstier, as it returns around 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
