2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Facelift: Changes, Colors, Features, Cross, Price

In many parts of the world, crossovers have almost completely suppressed minivans. However, that’s not the case with developing countries in Asia, South America etc. In this part of the world, minivans are still very popular, due to their super-high level of practicality and functionality. So, it’s no wonder that the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander carries on and receives a facelift for the next model year. This is a typical facelift, this brings most visual updates.

Other than the updated styling, this update also brings novelties regarding suspension setup, for a more comfortable ride. The interior also brings a couple of interesting novelties, while there are also some new standard and available features. On the other hand, the powertrain remains the same.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander already debuted in some markets, such as the Philippines, while it will arrive in other markets this fall.

2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Design

The 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander receives a mid-cycle update. While this is a pretty comprehensive refresh that brings novelties in various aspects, the most notable changes are those in terms of styling. This particularly refers to the new front-end design, which brings a couple of notable upgrades. This particularly refers to the new headlights, with the new T-shape design. Also, you can notice the new grille, which features the same shape but different internals. Of course, there are also updates in terms of new color options, new wheels etc.

This update has also brought some mechanical updates. That particularly refers to the suspension setup, which came with new dampers and springs, which reduce body roll and improve the overall ride quality, despite the increased ground clearance.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, the first thing you’ll probably notice is the seats. They now feature a new diamond pattern, which looks more attractive than before. Another nice update is a completely new steering wheel, while you can also notice some updates on the center stack, with new climate controls and similar things.

Other than that, the cabin remained pretty much the same. The overall build quality is good, while materials are also pretty fine. We like the tablet-like infotainment screen, while the software is pretty decent as well. The list of standard equipment also includes goodies like navigation, smartphone integration, cruise control, a rearview camera etc.

When it comes to passenger space and capacity, this is a three-row MPV. Still, if we consider that the wheelbase is good for 2775 millimeters, it’s easy to realize that the third row isn’t particularly generous with space, though it is still very functional. On the other hand, the first two rows of seats are very spacious and comfortable and accommodate adults with ease.

2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Engine

This aspect of the vehicle remains the same. The 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander continues with a familiar 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four engine, which puts out around 103 horsepower and 141Nm of max torque. With such an output, it’s obvious that performances aren’t spectacular but the engine feels smooth and refined.

On the other hand, the main complaint goes to the transmission choice. Base models come with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while you can also opt for a 4-speed automatic transmission, which feels quite outdated. If an automatic transmission isn’t a must, we would always recommend going with the manual gearbox.
