2023 Nissan Rogue Preview: Sport, Specs, Features, Hybrid

After the recent redesign, we expect that the popular compact crossover from Nissan will continue in the same way. The new generation has brought a lot of interesting novelties and, more importantly, improvements in terms of interior quality, practicality, comfort and general refinement. For the next year, we probably won’t see significant changes, though there are rumors about the hybrid version. At this point, the officials are still quiet on this matter.

With novelties or not, the 2023 Nissan Rogue will continue to deliver familiar design characteristics. You may count on a crossover that offers a lot of good things, starting from a spacious and well-designed cabin, lots of standard and available equipment and plenty of passenger and cargo space. Also, we particularly like the fuel economy, though more ambitious drivers probably won’t be satisfied with the model’s weak acceleration and unimpressive CVT gearbox.

As bigger changes probably won’t happen, we presume that the 2023 Nissan Rogue will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022.

2023 Nissan Rogue Design

The new generation of this compact crossover happened just recently, so there is no doubt that the 2023 Nissan Rogue will continue in the same way. The recent overhaul has brought a lot of novelties but, interestingly, the platform remained the same. The new Rogue also rides on a familiar CMF platform. Moreover, the wheelbase is the same, while the overall dimensions are slightly different compared to the previous model.

Still, we saw a lot of updates on this architecture, especially when it comes to the suspension setup. The new model rides better and offers a higher level of comfort. Steering is way more precise than before, while the handling is slightly better. Once again, this crossover is mostly about comfort and those who look for more athleticism should probably consider some other models in the class, such as Mazda CX-5 or Ford Escape.

Interior

Interior changes definitely won’t happen. We are about to see the same layout, which looks way better than before. The cabin is all new and the first thing you’ll notice is a higher level of overall quality. The materials are much nices, while the build quality is better too. Of course, you may count on modern aesthetics and more appealing dashboard design, while we also like the fact that sound insulation is way better than before.

2023 Nissan Rogue Interior

The Rogue has always been known for spacious and comfortable cabin and this generation is no exception. Both rows offer plenty of passenger room and accommodate adults with ease. Also, the front seats are some of the most comfortable in the class.

Behind the back seats, you may count on about 31.6 cubic feet, while the total cargo volume goes over 74 cubic feet. That’s pretty much on par with class leaders like Honda CR-V and Subaru Forester.

Features

The 2023 Nissan Rogue will probably come with a couple of additions to the list of standard equipment but most of the things are about to remain the same. Therefore, base models should come equipped with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a four-speaker stereo, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and satellite radio. Higher trim levels will come with lots of options, starting from goodies like a 9-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker stereo, a 10-speaker Bose premium stereo, navigation, wireless device charging, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, two rear USB ports, Wi-Fi hot spot, dual-zone automatic and tri-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, remote start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a universal garage door opener, panoramic moonroof etc.

When it comes to safety, all models will come standard with forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, driver attention monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights, a rearview camera, and rear parking sensors.

2023 Nissan Rogue Engine

Under the hood, the 2023 Nissan Rogue will continue with a familiar 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which puts out around 181 horsepower and comes in pair with a CVT gearbox. That’s enough power for daily commuting but those who are looking for a little bit of sporty ride probably won’t find this enough. The overall performance may seem underwhelming, but what’s really great about this powertrain is fuel economy. This model returns around 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, which is excellent for the class of compact crossovers.

Some sources speculate about the possibility to see a hybrid version of the 2023 Nissan Rogue. If that happens, we presume the powertrain will feature Nissan’s latest ePower technology, which moves the car with electric motors, while the gasoline engine charges the battery.
