The company has recently unveiled a new model 2018 Toyota Rush in Indonesia and the SUV will also be unveiled in some Asian countries soon. It is going to lock horns with rivals like Honda BR-V.
Japanese carmaker Toyota is in a hurry to make its presence felt in the compact SUV and crossover segment in various markets- as is clear from its latest efforts.
2018 Toyota Rush – Exterior and Interior Features
Toyota says the new Rush is a tough and dynamic vehicle that mixes SUV styling with the functionality of an MPV. It is also sold as Daihatsu Terios in some markets. On first look, you will find some design cues taken from the Fortuner SUV.
The grille is like what you see in stablemate Innova with 4 chrome slats. The upswept headlights and Led DRL cluster resemble an older version of Honda CR-V. The round fog lamps sit in the front bumper. The TRD Sportivo trim gets dual tone alloy wheels, roof rails and tailgate-mounted spoiler with some black side body claddings. The car will be offered in a few exciting exterior hues. It is built on a ladder frame chassis instead of a monocoque chassis.
The cabin of 2018 Toyota Rush looks sporty and stylish. The dual tone dashboard oozes suave appeal. TRD Sportivo trim gets automated climate control. There is a 7.0-inch touchscreen display and it serves as a parking camera. The center console has piano black finish with a silver trim around it.
Safety Options
The 2018 Rush gets decent safety features and some amenities are also offered by Toyota. The car will get 6 airbags. It also gets stability control, ABS with EBD, hill start assist. It also has engine stop/start feature embedded.
Both trims get the touchscreen setup but the TRD Sportivo variant is laden with automatic climate control. The base trim gets manual air conditioning. Top trim also gets a sound system with 8 speakers. There is smartphone connectivity offered through technologies like Miracast and Weblink.
2018 Toyota Rush – Engine Specs
The 2018 Toyota Rush was likely to come with a Dual VVT-i engine but the Indonesian model has got a four-cylinder 1.5-litre petrol engine. It makes an output of 105 HP.
Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and another torque converter 4-speed automatic unit. It is believed in some markets the Rush will be unveiled with a diesel engine. However, the company has not confirmed it.
2018 Toyota Rush – Availability and Cost
It is not known when the 2018 Rush SUV will be unveiled in other markets apart from Indonesia. Pricing is going to be revealed in January and the sale will begin soon.
